Made an appointment for next Friday to do the 500 mile oil change. Still contemplating doing the differential and transmission fluid changes as well. I guess I'll make up my mind at the last moment.
Not bad....17.9 MPG. I averaged 17.3 on my 2014 Base 3LT.
Anything other than the oil in a dry sump car would be totally silly at 500 miles.
The only reason for that is that GM found that while the silicon seals in the engine were curing they put residue into the oil that compromised the oil's anti-foaming properties somewhat. It's no big deal in a wet-sump car, but in a dry sump car, any foaming oil can find it's way into the air intake.
It was a precaution added after some of the early cars showed signs of that.

I tend to agree with you on the diff and transmission fluids. And yes, I am aware of the foaming issues and the need for the 500 mile change, thanks.
Why are you at home posting about your mileage? Get out there and give your car (and you) those precious 60 miles, and change that dealer appointment to Monday!

I just got back from a 50 mile ride to get it to 440. I'm busy until next Friday and can't get to the dealer so I'll eek out another 60 miles between now and then. It's a dirty job but someone has to do it.

Iif I lived closer, I'd volunteer to finish off those miles for you, take it to the dealer, and have it ready to go for you on Friday.

Yeah, car forum 101. You could do a blind test of putting fresh fluid in unbeknownst to an owner, drain and show it to them after 50 miles, and they'll tell you how nasty it was.
