Is there anyway to defeat the dialogue that flashes across the DIC when one goes into Performance Shift Mode? It is rather annoying for me, as it defeats the digital readout of the speed one is accelerating to. The analogue speedometer to the left is a little difficult to read at a glance. I don't have the HUD.
I don't believe there is any option for the user to defeat the display of this message. I have the HUD in my Z06 but the digital readout in it seriously lags the true speed during hard acceleration which makes sense because the digits would just be a blur if they updated immediately. Relying upon the digital readout to accelerate to a set speed will result in you far overshooting that speed. The digital readout in the DIC area will have the same issue. There are some situations where an analog display is much better since a digital numeric readout isn't useful for conveying rapidly changing information to humans.
I've never really noticed. I know it's happening on the DIC, but that's not where my focus is.
Joe, if you're accelerating fast enough to activate performance shift mode, shouldn't you be paying more attention to what's in front of you than what's on the DIC?
You know you're going over 100 mph by the time it pops into 5th.
