Drove a Hellcat.....Thoughts compared to C7
It is also obvious that this entire thread is asking how the HC compares to the C7, thus my other comment was very relevant. I'm not sure how else I can explain my response without resorting to emojis.

I don't what else I can do to help you understand.

You said "god the thing was just so damn slow".
End of story. I don't what else I can do to help you understand.
This thread is quickly turning into a **** show. For being car guys, you people don't really like cars very much.
It doesn't matter if it's faster than a Z51, it matters how fast it is, standalone, having a whopping 707hp. Because the car is so heavy, 707 doesn't feel like 707. 4600lbs is a heavy *** car dude...
People tend to just pay attanetion to "wow! 707hp!" but don't look at how heavy the car is. The expectations are high once you start focusing too hard on power figures alone and not look at the whole package.
Because they are both $73,000 cars. If I have that money burning a hole in my pocket, I would look at both of them to compare which one I'd want to buy. I never said they were classified the same on paper.
This review is a clownshow. The comments on the fit and finish (which is great) made the BS flag fly high. This whole thing probably never happened.
then there's this little nugget:
lol brah unless youre driving a Z06 a Hellcat would beat you like a read headed stepchild[/QUOTE]
^^^^^^
This is the car I drove. It was located in Savannah, GA. As far as the Hellcat beating a Z51 Corvette, yeah, maybe, but I'd bet those 275 wide tires won't hook and that car will be spinning while I'm down the track......
Read your comment again slowly.... nobody has to "reconcile their impressions". Opinions can't be wrong.... my opionion was disappointment.

I agree ... really that was my whole point to begin with..^^
I was just expecting a little bit more.
I am by no means a Hellcat lover. I would never buy one. But they are pretty cool for what they are and in this day in age of turbo charge 4 cylinder engines, very unique.
For me, handling is very important so the C7 would be the easy choice between the two cars. I simply don't want to drive a 4K+ lbs car as my "sports car". Having owned three RX-7's (non of them stock), a BRZ (not stock), and a number of tuned WRX's and most recently a non-stock MK7 Golf R, the C7 is the biggest car (in terms of dimensions) sporty car I have ever owned. And one of the heaviest. My FD RX-7 made over 350whp but weighed under 2800lbs.
Ironically enough I was very keen on keeping the MK7 Golf R as my daily and buying a Lotus Elise as the fun car but decided to go all in on C7 and picked up a used Honda Fit (6 speed manual!) when the weather is bad or need the backseat.

It's a muscle car. The vette is a sports car. The Challenger is more about torque and straight line acceleration.
The Challenger is much larger and feels it. You can't really compare the two.
Do you have any more info on the relationship between Dodge and SRT? Links to official websites would be helpful.

Well done sir.
