Default Z06 ride height

I've noticed the Z sits lower than the Stingray base and the z51 optioned stingray. How much lower does it sit ?

Would lowering the stingray on either 18/19's or 19/20's compromise ride quality, cause tire contact issues, or require alignment ?

This is just my take on it. The car should be able to be lowered all the way on stock bolts and still not rub as that is what the adjustment is there for so you should be fine. I can't comment on switching wheel/tire sizes and then having issues. In terms of alignment, yes you will require an alignment after you lower the car. I took mine (Z06) and had the alignment checked after I purchased the car and then took it back after I lowered mine all the way down on stock bolts. Each time the alignment was off. In terms of how much lower, If i measure from the middle lip of the fender to the ground, I am sitting roughly 27.5" in the rear and 26.5" on the front. Ride quality has not changed on mine...

When I see pics of a new GS or Z on here it looks to me like it sits higher than the base or Z51 model, not lower. There is a much bigger fender to tire gap on the Z/GS for sure.

Ride height is adjustable and cars from the factory seem to come varying heights. I doubt that different models are, on average, different heights. Lowering on stock bolts will not cause any problems with 18/19s or 19/20s. I got my car aligned afterward.

I lowered mine all the way down. 2 days later it went right back up lol. No roads make it intolerable imho. But it did look insane.

Yes, all models come out of the factory with widely varying ride heights, Z06 included.

I believe what the lowered Zs you see are owners whom lowered the height via the adjustable factory bolts. Factory height settings, I believe are the same on Zs and Stingrays (Z51 or non Z51)

Here's info from my 2016 Service Manual. You can see that the P and R measurements are to the arches of the wheel wells - that's a new spec for the C7. The earlier Vette gens never had anything in the manual except the Z and D specs for measuring suspension height.

So....if you have anything other than OE wheels/tires, your P and R measurements may be quite a bit different. In that case, adjust to get the Z and D heights within spec.
