OK, really like my Corvette. Just wanted to get that out of the way. But MyLink just seems to have something against Apple products. My goal is to figure out how (if) I can integrate a couple Apple products by the end of the year.
I saw all the threads about iPods, but thought "hey, no problem." But then it started. Playlists randomized, added, etc. iPod touch not recognized, then coming back to life in a few weeks.
Then I had everything working until I used voice recognition to find a playlist. This really thru things into disarray.
My first conclusion is that the problem is trying to integrate two Apple products at the same time. For example, having an iPod and my iPhone with the same playlists. This really screws things up. Playlists were first duplicated then, in some cases, randomized.
Finally conceded defeat and went to a USB flash drive. If, like me, you are on a Mac at home, a cheap desktop app called "Export for Itunes" makes this REALLY easy. It finds both your albums and your playlists, then you just click the ones you want and it exports them to a flash drive--even includes the artwork! One downside which was annoying but something I can live with is that you can't export DRM protected songs. But not that many of my songs are anyway.
By the way, if anyone knows how to clear the cache (or whatever you call it) of MyLink let me know. Just in case I want to force MyLink to re-index my iPod again . . .
I have 3 GM's with Mylink, they all suck and exhibit the same things you are saying. Sometimes they won't recognize the ipod plugged in to the USB interface, you have to disconnect and reconnect. If you use anything larger than a 16gb ipod, they work for a while then you get all kinds of weird errors. Only ones I've found that work decent are the 4th generation 16gb ipod nano's, I've got a couple of them I bought used, they work well. Anything larger eventually craps out. I have a 2017 equinox, 2014 Silverado and 2013 Camaro. I have 7 ipods, they all do the same thing in each vehicle. The only ones that work decent are the 16gb ipod nano's (and not the latest generation, those have a different operating system and won't work at all, I have one of them too)
