A sales rep told my son that he only gets two free oil changes on the 2017
Has that changed for 2017
Anybody have info on this
Thanks
It changed in 2016. Dry sump engines (Z51, Z06, GS) get one free change at 500 miles, then two free changes any time over the first two years. Wet sump (base model Stingrays) get two free changes in the first two years.
I have a 2017 Stingray 2LT (non-Z51 with a wet sump). I purchased it on February 1st and the dealer said that GM gives two "free" oil changes within the first 24 months of ownership.
At my rate of driving, I will likely hit 4,000 to 5,000 miles this fall and get my first one done. The second one will probably come in the fall of 2018 when I hit 10,000 miles.
Actual mileage my vary, but that's pretty much what I am figuring for my garage queen.
For those of you with the Z51/dry sump cars, GM gives you a free oil change at the 500 mile mark. Something to do with the possible foaming that my exist because of something different used in the making of the "dry sump" cars.......which is beyond my knowledge.
I think GM put out a technical service bulletin to all dealers about this.
Regardless of the C7 you may own, be sure that you use Mobil-1 full-synthetic motor oil.
