My 2015 Z51 has a bad torque converter. I provided the dealer with the service bulletin describing the shudder and the parts they needed. They ordered the parts and then scheduled the appointment. They've had my car for 4 days. I find it hard to believe it takes that long to swap a converter. Am I unreasonable?
I doubt yours is the only car in for service. It's a big job and they may have to juggle other work and yours. You can't expect them to devote 100% of a tech's time to your job. Stuff happens. Techs get sick. Priorities vary. If they did not give you a "promised by" date, then you need to be patient.

Your dealer probably has other T/C's ahead of yours. The torque converters are a popular item. The transmission has to be dropped for them to remove the TC and replace it with your new one. It took the dealer 4 days to complete the installation of my new TC. It is not much different than replacing your transmission.
I brought mine in for the first time last Dec. and they kept it a month with no fix. The first excuse was they were waiting for back-ordered parts, the second that their ace tranny tech had contracted pneumonia and would be out for two weeks. I was trying to be understanding, but finally picked the car up and told them to call me when they were ready.
On the second try it took about three days from drop off to pick up and the invoice shows they billed GM for 13.6 hours.
Mine was at the dealer ~ 3 weeks, first they got a "Bad TC" them I was traveling so that added another week or so. I have to travel ~ 130 miles, so I did have a loaner, which I did not use on my road trip back west. I had to take it back a couple weeks later and they "added new up dated progarm" I'd figure a week any case. Good Luck
A few have gotten really good at it because they've seen so many. A few months ago, a '17 GS owner reported his was changed in 1 day because his dealership keeps A8 TCs in stock.
