Hi all,
I am currently driving a 2014 Premier Edition coupe. Its beautiful. I am kicking around the idea of trading up to a new 1LT Grand Sport coupe.Other than moving up some model years would there be any other upside or should I stick with what I have? Kerbeck has one that I may be interested in and its beautiful too. Too bad the Corvette loyalty is gone.
Do you track you car? If this is more of a daily driver I am inclined to tell you to stay with what you have and wait for a bigger refresh or even the C8.
The GS will be a more dialed in car for the track, but for the street with have some less amenities (1LT vs 3LT you have now) and probably a harsher ride.
Ultimately I would say do a test drive and see what you think. If you like to track the car on a regular basis I think the GS would be a no brainer
Trade-in prices are as high as they are ever going to be. GM needs the business. You are not moving up in model years; you are moving up to the Corvette that the Stingray should have been. Not me talking, all the trade rags. Somebody posted the GS vs Porsche 991? test video here (track, drag, road course) here and the GS ate that lil bratwursts lunch. Trade up.
As a fellow P.E. owner, I would not want to do it. Going from a 3LT to a 1LT would be hard. Too many things to give up. HUD first, and foremost. Memory and heated/ventilated seats, full leather/suede, nav… I'm sure I forgot something.
About the only thing you get to keep is the luggage!
When I started looking for a vette this year, I was sure I wanted a C6 Grand Sport. The rear brake vents and larger wheels made the profile of that car.
Once I drove a C7, I decided that's the way to go. When I look at the C7 Z51 vs. the Grand Sport...I'm not so sure I'd go the GS way. The profile of the C7 Z51 doesn't need that extra interest...and the brakes are cooled without the external venting.
I like a clean 2014 and would hang on to it personally. If you are tracking, go ZO6, if not, go 2LT or 3LT in my opinion.
Agree do what you want. Personally I just upgraded (unwillingly at first) from my C6 to C7 PE 2014 with 4900 miles. Love this car and I would keep it over a newer C7 with fewer features.
stay with what you have. no benefit to you to change cars. if you have the A-6 and HD Radio you are way ahead of the game. I would not trade down my 14 for a newer year model.
First of all, do you use the options of the 3LT? If there are only a couple you use and are not a deal breaker you may want to consider a trade up. If those options are important to you forget it.

I just traded my '16 1LT Stingray Convertible (FE2, 7M) in on a 1LT GS 7M Coupe this week.
For myself, I could care less about the extras that come with 2LT or 3LT. If those things are not important to you then you will be very happy with a 1LT GS. The Grand Sport is a great Corvette! I also got an exceptional deal that made the deal a no brainer!

Find a Corvette you love and KEEP IT. GM makes changes every year so you keep chasing your tail trying to keep up. I have seen Corvettes of every generation that are outstanding.
