Default Gray carpet is tough

I love the two-tone interior in my Grand Sport, but I could see just what a pain it was going to be to keep the gray carpeting and floor mats looking clean. I found myself using carpet cleaner more often in the last three months than in my previous 30 years of driving. I've had enough of that $hit.

Installed some black Weather Tech mats today. Not the prettiest mats in the world but they look decent and will free up a lot more time for driving than cleaning. And the carpet underneath will always look showroom new. I've never bought these before but they fit perfectly and seem very well-made.

The Weathertechs fit great and shield your carpets from wear. Originally had Lloyd's, but didn't want to take a chance with stains. Saving the Lloyd's for show.

I've had these in my C6, the wife's SUV and my C7. Around here they stay in the vehicles from November to May. Great product.

Weather Techs. Crazy not to. Ordered them the day I bought mine and been in since. Carpets still perfect underneath. I have them in all my vehicles.

I had gray carpet in my C7 with the same mats and in the winter, my carpet still got dirty!

The rubber floor mats I have seen get stained and scuffed up where they look worse than carpet.
I would just buy black GM floor mats, and let it go with that.

So many people go to aftermarket floor mats, I have been able to buy brand new factory mats easily at half the cost of ordering through dealer.

Have light grey carpets, black Lloyds mats, carpet looks like new. However, I don't have to worry about that cold white stuff getting on my Lloyd mats.

I put Greystone Lloyd's in mine and no cleaning issues so far ... but like Red-C6, where I live I don't have to worry about the winter stuff. I love the way the light grey looks. When the mats get dirty, I'll clean them. When they won't come clean, I'll replace them. A small price to pay for the look that I want when I'm driving my dream car.

I bought these red mats for my GS and the driver's side gets dirty real fast. I shampooed it 3 days after I got it and Scotch Guarded it but it still gets dirty. I'll just replace it at some point. The passenger side and cargo mats are clean since my wife is only in the car once and a while. I may get clear mats to go over them at some point. I do love the red mats though. Red seatbelts are next, as soon as I figure out how to install them. :-)

On our C6, I used Cocomats. The thick/loose weave allows dirt and crud to sink into the weave and disappear, but the rubber backing prevents it from going all the way through.
The Cocomats had to be replaced at about 50k miles, and the second set was shot at 102k, but the factory carpet and mats underneath looked brand new when we traded the car.
Available in multiple colors and patters if desired.

The grey floor mats that came with my vette are cheap and cheesy. I had better floor mats in my old Datsun B210 delivered new. They are sitting in the garbage can right now replaced by Lloyds. But I also can't see putting in rubber floor mats. Those are for pick-up trucks. I know they can be "practical," but to me it's like wearing clod hopper orange tennis shoes with a tuxedo. It's like going to a fancy restaurant and ordering a hot dog and fries with lots of ketchup and a Diet Coke. It's like what a fancy cat thinks of a slobbering dirty dog: No class. No class at all.

So I guess you're the fancy cat and I'm the slobbering dog. Well I guess that does fit on your end. Anyone who chooses to gutlessly insult someone on the Internet usually is nothing more than a *****.

RELAX, buddy! Good Lord, they surely do make vette owners a sensitive lot. Next thing I know you'll be telling me how a six inch lift on your vette is "cool"
And for the record, I dd not call you any names as you did me. Kind of proves my point.

So now you're playing the poor, helpless victim who did not hurl any insults? Poor baby.

It never fails on this forum. Someone tries to share some information that might be helpful to others, and some dick has to show his ignorance by turning it into a battle of personal taste via insults. I don't know why anyone bothers.

FO "buddy."

Don't they make them in grey?
