For the 4th year, I have let one on my kids or nephews use my Corvette for Prom with another great night of memories for everyone.
This year I couldn't be there for the festivities since my daughter was graduating college at the University of Dayton. So on Saturday morning I gave the keys to my nephew and let him keep the car for the weekend. A great young man heading to engineering school and no doubts he would be responsible and respectful. He did not let me down in the least.
Unfortunately, the weather here in Central Ohio dampened the picture taking event with off-on rain showers, but the smiles and the memories are clearly evident.
No hesitations leaving the keys with Evan for the weekend. He only drove it 65 miles and he brought it home as good as when I left it with him.
Yes, some Corvettes do get driven in the rain! A very polite young man helping his date.
Good for you! I would let my grandson borrow mine when I was still living in Portland. He was staying with us when going to college. His room and board was to detail the car every day, which he did as good as I ever could. He grew to love the car and became as protective of it as me. And I'm very very protective. So eventually I let him use the car and never had to worry about it. He treats the used C5 I bought for him with his life! He learned a good lesson living with me.
Good job! I actually borrowed my uncle's Jaguar XJ6 for my prom back in the day. I can tell you that it's way cooler showing up in a nice car than even the kids who rented a limo.
The good news for their parents is that unlike the Jag, your C7 doesn't have a backseat!
