My local Firestone shop back in 2014 refused to even attempt an alignment on my C7. They always did a good job on my C6s so I was surprised. But then mine was an early C7 so maybe they just weren't set up for the C7 yet.

I stopped by a local firestone shop about 5 miles from my house and they have Hunter alignment machine they got last year. They said for $199 lifetime 4 wheel alignment and can do my lowered C7 with after market lowering bolts that is 2 5/8'' above the ground at its lowest point. I don't know anything about alignment machines? Is Hunter something good?

Hunter is top of the line equipment as long as the techs are trained on it, and it is kept in spec.

Excellent machine. The Firestone in Crowley, TX has one and it is a true drive on. Great for a lowered Corvette,

why dealer or Firestone? there are other places for alignment. I pAID $169 for 3 years of unlimited alignments. many places I called did not have a machine that my low corvette could use. Tire Rack...

Same here; I always ask their master technician to work on the car. I always buy the lifetime alignment, and always tip the tech. They have so far done an excellent job.

Regarding rear caster, I do have my own gauge (angle cube) and the OEM tool. It is very easy to use, and all the technicians I've so far worked with have figured it out in about a minute.

If you are in the DFW area;

Firestone Store on Coit Rd in Plano....ask for Gerry

Firestone Store on 377 in Watauga....ask for Justin

Both guys know their stuff inside and out and know Vettes

I think I paid $180 for the tool, and $36 for angle cube.

The cost can vary by dealer. Mine charged $129.00 for the Z06. Price is the same for any C7. And yes, the tech had the tool to set the rear caster. Here in TX, Firestone company owned stores charge $179 for a lifetime alignment.

$129 is for one time alignment at dealer. Firestone you can go every weekend to get aligned for lifetime for only $200. Is my math wrong? what makes more sense?

I still think any of you are crazy to trust Firestone. Not only do many of their people not have a clue on how to change tires, yet alone an alignnment. Be aware that Firestone does NOT stand behind their work as their management proved to me but I think they are fly by night. Maybe in some occasions a few place might have competent techs but I sure wouldn't bet me Corvette on that. Matter of fact, I have a lifetime alignment on one of the other cars and I pay elsewhere because they can't be trusted. Lucky you very few who had good luck

When a corporate management doesn't even return your calls, that is an indication of someplace to stay far away from.

The Firestone that installed 3/4 directional tires incorrectly was located on Military Highway in Norfolk.

I go to "other" because all the Firestones around here can't do a FOUR wheel alignment, and the closest Chevy dealer to me is someplace I will never take my car to again.

For alignments, I take them to Winegardner Buick GMC in Prince Frederick, MD. I actually take them there for most work.
