Of course! The highest tier of OnStar service lets you call them up and say, "Take me to this address" and they'll download the directions. You could just as well type it in yourself, but if you're lazy they'll do it for you. Also, Sirius adds some traffic data, but IMO it's very lame. It will turn the color of the road red if there's a lot of traffic and once in a great while inform you in advance. I just went 4400 miles and found that feature useless. Waze is a lot better.

Yes. I only purchase the OnStar Protection Plan which doesn't have the navigation option. The factory GM nav units on the Vette and my GMC Terrain work well without it. The only advantage to the OnStar directions is they contained routings on roads that might not be part of the factory Nav data base. GM seems to run 4 or more years late on road info for some parts of the country. I found it interesting when I had the initial free subscription that when I downloaded the OnStar directions to the factory Nav it would follow roads and go to addresses that weren't in its data base and it seemed to remember them afterwards.

I use Google Maps for work and it works very well !!!! I like the traffic mode and it lets know if there is a backup. Android Auto and Google Maps are for me and my C7. And i don't have to pay GM 150.00 to update their GPS that is never uptodate.
