In July 2014, I had my windshield replaced due to a large rock strike. After the install by All Star Glass, I just felt like the top of the windshield didn't sit quite right. I mentioned it to the installer and he assured me it was correct.
Fast forward to today and I have a crack along the top edge on the driver side. I took it to a different installer and he immediately diagnosed it as a stress fracture caused by an improper install. Apparently the previous installer did not properly seat the alignment pin into the alignment hole. I guess it was fortunate it lasted 3 years before cracking but unfortunate because the previous installer will not warranty the install that was faulty.
I should have trusted my gut that it didn't look quite right at the time. Lesson learned and shared.
