You can buy a blank from your dealership parts dept and have it engraved locally. My dealer offered that for $80 total vs. the $200 option when ordering new.
You don't happen to have the part number for the blank unit?
Stevestig
That's what I was looking for. Just not for two or the price. With the factory tour being cancelled til 2019 it will be a while before I get back to the NCM so the membership would not be of much value either.

If I got a personalized dash plaque, my estate will have to replace it when they sell the car.
morbid!

interesting.......
When I ordered my new Z, I was told the plate is only for NCM delivery. I knew they were incorrect, but didnt feel like arguing and 200$ for a piece of plastic with my name it seemed a bit pricey. Anyone have a part number for the blank one?
Where do we order these?

^^^ Thats my picture from a forum sale a did a couple of years ago. I got 4 or 5 of them from ebay via a seller in KY near Bowling Green- my understanding was these were extra/scrap. As far as i know, there is no place to buy these including the dealer; I haven't seen another one for sale since. If someone can find a part number for a blank one it would be helpful.

got it from TrunkMonkey, ie suburaban chevrolet. It is a GM part, P/N 22891838. Cost about $40.00. I have never seen one with the characters on it, so I am not certain if it is engraved or the letters are placed on top of the "applique" as Chevrolet calls it.
Yeah, as I suggested at another thread and as noted by someone here, as well, find a person with a 3D printer who can custom program it. That way, you can do as YOU wish with few limits.
Another option I've used for other projects is to form a base-plate out of aluminum stock and have it engraved as you wish. In fact, with some work (more than it's worth money-wise, doing only for fun) one can make multi-piece plaques which can be very professional looking. Some power metal-working tools help but are optional for a patient, careful craftsperson.
