I don't know if this helps. I have an A8 and used it probably about 2 dozen times. I never had an issue, but.....I determined I can do better just by slamming my pedal to the metal. Very little spin and no hesitation.
Are you shifting it or letting it do its own thing ?

When I took my 17 GS in for the 500 mile oil change I asked if they were having any issues with the 17's and all he said was there were some issues when people were launching their cars. I didn't put much stock in it as I was mainly looking for things like TC and Tranny problems of the past. He said no other problems so far with the 17's. The advantage of buying a car a couple of years after a new platform in introduced.

Letting it do its own thing. It will shift into second at about 46 mph. That's the first pop from the Borla! Let off the gas after the fourth pop. Going too fast by then.
Nissan got pretty badly burned over that. They fix it under warranty now.

By the way, if anyone that has heard of the GTR problems and has not seen the video "Hitler's GTR," search for it on YouTube. First time I saw it I laughed so hard I almost teared up.
My understanding is if they offer the feature, they cannot limit its use in the United States to a set number of times (under our laws). That's why the launch control in my M3 is boring, it launches from like 1600rpm, whereas in the eurospec cars it dumps the clutch from 3500... but you can only do it so many times under warranty.
