No C7 is "rare." Color doesn't make a car rare, unless maybe the factory only made one. Being a 'vert makes is less common, but not rare.
Ferrari 250 GT Lussos are rare. A Ferrari La Ferrari is rare. C7s are not rare.

You want really rare, try finding a Z51, M7, convertible in any color. I happened to be looking at dealer stock at the big 3 Corvette dealers, and didn't see a single one in stock.
There are a lot of people who are not wide-body fans, preferring the cleaner look. Even a year ago, it took me forever to find one in stock, and it was a CPO.

It's an awesome car.

I agree that relatively rare or hard to find doesn't translate to more valuable when it comes to C7s. It simply means lower demand, thus lower production.
However, if you're one of the few people who really wants a Z51, convertible, M7, you might be willing to toss another $K or two on the table. I did because what I wanted was very hard to find.

Yeh, rare with a C7 won't mean a lot of extra $$ when selling it later, 5yr, 10yr or 20yr from now. Our C5 was rare in the combination of black, vert, 6-sp, and oak interior, very few made over the life of the model. But trying to sell it 15yr later meant nothing on value or how many would even consider it. (and still trying to sell it !!) We ordered a C7, black, stringray, 7-sp, vert, because you just could not find one around the country. 20yr from now won't mean $50 extra in value from a "rare" standpoint.

Seems most of you readers missed this part of my original post.
"PS I'm 72 and doubt I'd live long enough to enjoy any price increases in my lifetime."
Rarity does not always equal increased appreciation of value.
Most of us want something about our car that stands out differently from others. I'm simply stating that the black rose, in a Z06 convertible will be a rare car. It could be valuable in 40 or 50 years, but like most things there's no guarantee, HELL THERE MAY NOT EVEN BE FUEL FOR THEM IN 50 YEARS.
The best example of a rare Vette that is virtually worthless
is the 1980 California addition of the Vette.

If you've ever watched the big classic car auction shows, unusual colors like "Black Rose" generally don't do as well as the more standard, classic colors. They are polarizing. You either love them or hate them.
My last observation is that I don't think the color of any C7 makes it stand out as unique. It's perceived as relatively common, regardless of color and equipage.

I did not realize it at the time but my 2014 Vert was one of the first built in Dec. 2013. It is a M7, Z51, Mag. Ride Control and chrome wheels and 2lt. Is it uncommon? Not sure it's rare but whatever after 3 1/2 years I still love it. The color is torch red which was popular.

Isn't lime green with red wheels rarest of all?

It most certainly is uncommon and hard to find. I know, I searched for a long time to find one for sale. If you haven't looked for one to buy, you may not realize that. However, that doesn't make it more valuable.
As I said above, none of the big 3 Corvette dealers in the US has a single M7 Z51 convertible in stock, even though there is large backlog of C7s sitting on dealer lots.

A C7 will never be rare just like the C6 and C5 Corvettes JMHO! Wait maybe in 40 years but I should be dead or close to it. So what the heck maybe that Black Rose Z06 Vert or GS will be rare in 40 years!
