.... but changing the driving mode does not alter the exhaust note.....if you have the NPP option that will alter the exhaust note/volume but beyond that there is no other control......

Go to Settings on the infotainment screen. Touch Driving mode. Touch engine sound management. Play with it.

Keep in mind that with NPP there are only two sound levels - think of them as loud and soft. As FLATJ said above, the first thing to do is make sure under "Engine Sound Management" that it's set to "Link to drive mode". Doing so causes the exhaust system to switch between loud and soft based on drive mode-specific conditions. The specific drive mode selected determines the conditions under which the exhaust sound is loud or soft. If under Engine Sound Management a different setting is selected, switching drive modes will have no effect on what the exhaust sounds like.

Or, pull the fuse so the valves stay open. Not a whole lot louder, but enough. Saves you figuring out all the settings. #42 except on 14's. There is even a empty spare fuse holder to store it. Right passenger side midway through engine by fender.

Through the Engine Sound settings mine is set on Track 100%. Plenty loud, and the drone is not too bad. There's a few RV drivers on Hwy 93 in Nevada that will attest to the loudness.
