You don't need to be a NRA member to own or carry a firearm.
If you are at risk for being stranded in the middle of nowhere, or worse yet in some parts of big cities, having a (legal) firearm and training in it's use is worth considering.
As a retired officer, I can carry almost anywhere in the US. And carrying a firearm is about as exciting to me as carrying a phone. In fact, if I had to choose between a cellphone and a firearm, 99% of the time I'd pick the phone. Fortunately, I and most others get to make our own choices.
I haven't had any issues but would like information regarding the inflators that you use. Cigarette plug in or direct to battery? It pays to be prepared on long road trips especially if it entails evening miles when just about everything is closed.
I don't have the record of the longest distance driving with zero pressure on a ZP (the Tail of the Dragon has that in the bag), but I might have the most dramatic long distance instance. I drove over 30 miles on this:
