Does it concern you to sit in on a high stakes poker game?

I have yet to read it here or see it in the charts...... why doesn't this effect the 2014 C7?

Different transmission in the 2014's. they have the 6L80 6-speed automatic. In 2915 they switched to the 8L90 8-speed.

Always use the paddles and no issues, as of today, 2017 Z06, but only have 1400 miles on the car. Thanks for keeping us informed.

It's really a crap shoot when you think about it, but the odds are much more in your favor, say 6:1, or 10:1 for more severe issues. We'll see as the poll chart gets more data points...

I just had my Corvette problems, (3 cracked windshields, and broken transmission, all in 3,700 miles) fixed for good. I got rid of it. Traded it in for a Porsche. Imagine, a fine sports car that looks great and runs great and a dealer that treats you like you bought an expensive car.
I loved everything about my C7 except the problems that GM knows about but refuses to fix. And my dealer couldn't care less

I had the shudder and rpm fluctuations while in V4 mode. Started to happen around 12K - 13K miles. They did the flush with new transmission oil and it has been good so far but it's only been about 2K miles.

Mine has been good, too, for 600 miles after the flush, However, it still feels like the engine stumbles 2 or 3 times an hour. I know it's not the engine missing, it's the TC or transmission. It did it before the flush only worse. I can actually live with it, but boy it'd be nice if it were solid. I did take out an extended warranty so have 50k miles to decide. Part of me doesn't want them in there tearing the guts out of the drivetrain. If it doesn't get worse, I'll likely just live with it.

Default Here we go...

My 20k mile 2016 Z51 has recently started giving me what I assume are TC/Trans problems. Dealer had car for 3 days and claims can't duplicate problem. Does it every time I drive it but not constantly. Seems to be the worst on cruise control at freeways speeds.

Back when mine started to shudder in V4 mode, I had the tech ride along with me to show him the condition. You're right, it is easiest to reproduce with cruise on and then bump the speed +1 or 2 mph. That would make it shake every time. Before we made it back to the dealership, he said "Yep, your torque converter is bad."

Perhaps you can demonstrate your issue to them as well?

Reporting in at 6500 miles on my '16 base A8. You can at times feel the thing shake a bit when going from V4 to V8 at highway speeds, but nothing serious. I have decided I'm going to try the Range to stop the V4. I know the Range has it's problems, but it seems if an on/off switch is used after you start, and before you turn the engine off the CEL's will not appear. Hopefully I can nip the curse of TC problems appearing in the future. Fingers crossed.

Have been doing the same. So far so good. Love using the auto mode without AFM.

Suspected Torque Converter. Started the shudder at all speeds and ride modes. Cruise control on is more noticeable. Appointment 07/27 to diagnose. Had tire balance and run out checked. 2015 Z51 Cp 18,000 will update chart after service. Was smooth ride till this.

Update to my latest issues with hard engagement after sitting:

The tech spoke with a GM engineer and shared his findings. Since he didn't find anything that stood out as the possible cause, the engineer cautioned against replacing the whole trans. Said there's a newly designed valve-body coming out of Detroit. Went on to say if he simply replaced the entire transmission, the older valve-body might be inside that replacement, and ultimately fail too.

I can say I'm happy the engineer he spoke with had knowledge of this problem. I am concerned (but not surprised) GM has such poor control over their parts production as it relates to revisions. How hard could it be to track configurations by serial numbers? If this was an aircraft part and potentially life-critical, the whole fleet would be grounded while they did an investigation. Sadly though, GM will try to sweep this whole A8 thing under the rug until we all run out of warranty. I just hope they come up with a solid fix before my extended coverage runs out.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why they have not opted to put the A10 in the 2018 Vette. Maybe they will later on? In the short time it has been in the Camaro ZL1, it has gotten rave reviews. I realize it is still new and gremlins could pop up, but would it be worse than the A8? Probably not.

WOW!!!! First time someone at GM is talking about a possible fix. Sure hope so, since a few of us owners are greatly concerned about the A8. Thanks for this info.

Can someone shed some light on this "valve-body". What is this valve-body enclosed into? The transmission itself? Must be it seems. Thanks.

Or at least allow the A8 owner the option to turn the V4 mode off. Over time that seems to be the culprit causing most all of the TC problems.
