After re-reading the service manual I found that the pan holda 7.4 Qts.
This being the case, then adding 8 Qts back in makes since, amount out = amount in.
When I changed my fluid using the evacuation method I only got 4.5 Qts out at a time.
So I did the fluid change at that quantity, it just took more times but same amount of fluid in all.

Anyone have any idea if they will change my fluid to the new fluid under warranty if I’m not really having issues yet? 2016 Stingray A8.

^^^ According to my dealership you have to be experiencing shuddering, and hard shifts into drive in the morning, etc.
They indicate they have had issues with other GM products that have our transmission, but no Vettes so far.

If I were not having issues i would leave well enough alone. My 16 has been changed twice now. Just give it time, you will have issues and you have a 5 year 60k warranty to take care of it.

I’m not anything close to a technician but wouldn’t the new fluid be preventative maintenance?

I drive my 15` A8 w/ 18k miles in manual but on a recent trip the shudder was occuring while my wife was driving. She drives in auto and I was able to experience it it because I was working from the passenger seat. It has always shifted somewhat hard into first when cold but it had been getting worse. The service manager asked me to wait a few weeks until he received the new drum of fluid. So I waited then dropped it yesterday and got a call at 5:30 and was informed it wasnt ready. Apparently the process on a vette is more extensive and he still had another 1.5 hrs of work to do. I purchased the extended warranty thanks to reading about the issues on the forum. Made sure it was long enough for the C8 to come out and a year for them to work some of the bugs out. Every time I saw the A8 sticky thread in the discussion forum I would think, thankfully I dont need to follow that thread. Well, here I am. Love, love love this car so I'm hoping for the best. Will share results once I have the car back with a few miles and cold shifts.

This A8 issue is postponing my purchase of a new C7. Hopefully, they fix it soon. The longer I wait the more prices will drop with the impending release of the C8.

Does anyone have a feel for if the new fluid would fix or have an effect of the varying RPM problem? When I did the first triple flush, it fixed the shudder, but not the varying RPM. I had to buy a Range to fix that. Sure would be nice to lose the Range and drive the car as intended...

My service manager said they have to use Picoscope and record the shudder to send to GM for approval.
I had already went through the earlier flush, torque converter replacement and transmission valve body before the "New" Triple flush.
I asked him how much more evidence he needed I had the problem? He agreed and stated "Customer relations" as the reason and didn't send the recording to GM.
No charge..covered under warranty.

I'll put some miles on it this weekend and report back.
FYI - I use a Range AFM disabler and will continue to use it !

My understanding is that the rpm variation in V4 mode is considered normal. However I had the next-to-newest fluid installed (no flush except the cooler) in October at 20k miles, and it seems that the rpm variation in V4 is reduced. I need to look more carefully next time on the highway at 60 mph.
No shudder or other problems before or since.

The variation in RPM should be no more than 10 RPMs. Here is an instruction for the mechanics repairing the issue:

Is your quote from the latest bulletin?
I couldn’t find it there but am doing this on an iPhone so may have missed it.

I copied and pasted this in to a document about a year ago. I don't know what particular bulletin it was extrapolated from. But it was specifically in reference to our C7 Corvettes with A8 issues.

My 2019 A8 GS was build around 10/8/2018. Does anyone know when they started using the latest trans fluid in the build process?

The factory started to use the first version of Mobil 1 ATF (Black Label) in 1-23-2017. The second or latest version (Blue Label) has just come out in 1-1-19. This new version is available to purchase at Sumitt Racing.

According to the service manual the transmission holds 7.4 qts of ATF. You are not overfilling the trans if you replace 8 qts. 0.6 qts or 19.2 oz.
By the time you do a triple exchange with 24 qts the % of old vs new is less than 5% through out the whole transmission and TC.
I changed mine 4 qts at a time 6 times because I used the evacuation method. No dropping the pan no mess.
My car only had 1700 miles and had already been flushed 2x by me, with the older version (black label) Mobil 1. This was all for preventative maintenance.

Curious, is your car still in the B2B warranty time frame? So less than 3 years/36K..
