Has anyone purchased a weather tech waterproof cargo mat for their vet? If so, looking for feedback on quality or recommendations for another option. TIA
Not to be a troll, but this is a nice car, not something to haul muddy stuff in. I do have Weathertech in my F-150. They are OK. For what it is worth, I don't think they are worth the price. Too flimsy.
My only purpose is so bags don't slide around in the back, you know the essential shopping bags. not like I'm picking up new plants, I wouldn't dare. Lol
On both of our previous C6's, and now the new C7- I bought a Lloyds trunk mat (Ultimat). Always a light color. Scotchgarded before use and once each year, the last one still looked good at 8 yrs/102k miles.
For the C7, I bought light grey which somewhat matches the silver/grey trim in the black (actually, dark grey) cockpit. It changes the trunk from a black hole where I need a flashlight to find small objects, to brighter and more functional for me.
More to your point, the Lloyds mats have a waterproof rubber backing. We don't haul firewood in the car, but if something might be a little damp or dirty, we flip the mat over so the rubber side is up. When we unload the cargo: take the mat out, wipe off the rubber, let dry for a couple of minutes and reinstall.
If we have something that might slide around, we can also flip the mat.
I have Weathertechs in my other car. It's weird, the front mars are really nice, the ones for the back are really thin. I think they'd hold up fine back there though, I would worry if you had a dog romping on them. If you're just putting lighter stuff on them, you should be fine. I don't think they'd help with stuff slipping around though.
A bunch of us have picked up this cargo net, it's pretty nifty for grocery bags and stuff like that:
I just bought the front mats and the cargo mat. They fit fine, but IMO ugly for such a beautiful car. I bought them sight unseen (kinda stupid) and to my surprise they seemed to be a plastic not a rubber material. All the similar type mats I have had for my other cars were a rubber material which is what I was looking for. Guess I'll see if the Weathertech mat holds up like the others I have had. Thing is, Weathertech seems to be the only game in town if you want something other than carpet. Would I buy again - no.
