Well, my 17' Grand Sport CE just lost a little bit of her innocence today....... Glad she's keeping pace with my first Corvette which was a 17' Grand Sport as well.
Sooooo I'm not a dummy and I get double parking an expens sports car is an open invitation for ******** to do ******* things but I only double park in the furthest corner of a parking lot so I don't inconvenience others or invite people to do crap like this.

Maybe you should just use one spot and not park like an a$$hole.... Lucky it was just a flyer and not a key down your car. I've owned many nice cars and never found a reason to take up two spots. It's pretty obnoxious to be honest.

Inviting other people to do crap like that is exactly what you did. It's thing like this that make it easy for other people to believe that Vette owners think they are somehow entitled or special - why reinforce that? IMO you are fortunate that all that happened to your car was someone left a note for you.

Got to agree with the majority here, brother. The solution is pretty simple: Don't park like an *******. Park as far away in the back corner of the lot as you have to - preferably an end spot so only one side of your Corvette is exposed - and crowd the passenger side of the spot to increase your "safety zone". NEVER take up two spots, or a paper notice will be far from the worst thing you will receive. Lots of sick, jealous people out there just looking for you to give them an excuse to mess with your car. Don't give it to them.

Today's parking spaces are squeezed so tight that a Prius is on the white lines, so I say taking two 5' wide spaces on the outskirts of the lot is cool. Some people bitch about this but it's cool to blow someone's ear drums out with their loud exhaust?
I don't take kindly to door dings and I'll park in the outfield and walk an extra 200 yards to stay away from your typical Walmart dumbasses.
The spaces in that picture look just wide enough to squeeze in a Toyota Corolla with no room to open the door. Ridiculous.

That's why I park in the nice & wide disabled spots:
My yellow Z06 at Dash Point, WA
Of course I do use a wheelchair due to a slight case of paralysis - I've had my C6 damaged by people thinking no one who has a disability could possibly drive a sports car. Frequently get glares until the wheelchair comes out.
I was at one event where all the disabled spots were full so I parked at the furthest spot I could find and crossed over the line, taking up two spots to give my door room to get the chair in/out. There was about a 5 pound rock sitting on my hood when I came out - fortunately it was just "placed" there and not dropped so there wasn't any damage. Lesson learned even if there was a good reason for it.

Lol, oh this thread went exactly how I figured it would haha. Unless I'm in a hurry I go straight to the back corner of a parking lot. The picture was an example of how I park if it's my doctor's office at 4:30pm and 90% of the cars are gone for the day. I don't take two at the front of a packed parking area.
Growing up my older brother (15 years older than me) used to drive me crazy always parking a mile out and taking up 2-plus parking spots. Until I was in my early 20's I thought and told him he was a dumb *** and just a plain *** in general. Once I had a large / lifted truck that barely fit between the lines so after I received a few dings I figured out that the extra feet and occasional note was worth it.
I should have clarified but I'm referring to days like today when I parked in the back corner of a parking lot and there were not any vehicles within 20-25 yards of me. Someone taking time to write a note and put it on a vehicle that was not effecting anyone has way too much time on their hands.

Got a "ticket" for it, too.
I mean who's it hurting? Who's it inconveniencing? No one. BUT, who's it attracting? Someone who might just need this excuse to do something worse than leave a note on the car.
I don't do that, anymore. Not because of the ticket (that was a rent-a-cop joke), but because someone, quite a few years ago, here, pointed out that if you park so far out that you can take up more than one space, chances are you don't need to, so why call excess (usually negative) attention to yourself?

I'm with you OP you work your entire life sometimes have something nice but some inconsiderate *** just has to douche bag. If you park in the lower where there's no other cars I wouldn't have a problem with, now what I do have a problem is when someone rolls up and still parks close to you in piece of crap again no call to park that close to someone. I have a 2010 SS/RS and I used to park all the way down in 2 spots but now that it's over 7 years old and has a few dings I park in the middle or so and I generally don't park in tight spots. To me there's people are jealous and just want to see how bad they can mess someone's else pride and joy up!!! Park away OP!!!

At work, I almost always park in the corner of the lot with a curb on one side. Somdays not.
But no matter where I park, when I leave, there's this red VW TDi next to me.
Finally met the driver - said he always parks next to me b/c he knows I will not ding the side of his car with my door...I was amused

For every stupid action there is an equal and opposite stupid reaction.
One Summer evening my Brother and I went to KFC for a bucket of chicken and as always I parked as far from the building as possible. My 67 Chevelle was centered in the parking space and when we were walking out some lard *** had just parked next to my car and was getting out of his car. He parked far enough away from the car on his drivers side so that he could open the door all the way to get his lard *** out. But, he was so close to my car I had no room to even squeeze my skinny *** in between his car and mine! I yelled out some words and then he turned around while standing in the doorway to see me climbing up on his trunk, walking up on his roof and crawling into my car thru the drivers window. Not a word was said as I backed out and drove off.
