Horsepower is solely dependent on the position of your right foot!

You can use track mode on the street, but it's use is strongly discouraged by local law enforcement!!

Read your owner's manual.

As I understand it, the modes do not change HP, they change other things like steering stiffness, throttle response, etc. I believe changing the exhaust note (i.e. Sport or Track mode) adds an extra 5 HP (on the Z51 - not sure if that's the same or more on the Z06).

As for Track Mode on the street, nothing stops you from putting it into Track. I've heard people say that in that mode the suspension is very stiff and if you go over a pot hole (probably a big pot hole) you may damage the tires and/or suspension. I've driven Track mode on the street and have probably gone over a few pot holes but nothing that substantial. It may be more of a CYA but I'm always conscious when I go into Track mode. If I'm on a street that's not particularly smooth I won't use Track mode.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

What's wrong with the owner's manual that's available from my.chevrolet.com?
