Default Pdr

Has anyone had any problems with the recorder.
This weekend I went to record a secession when I
hit the pdr on the touch screen it went blank black .
I had to hit the home button to retrieve the screen .
The sd card is in place and has always worked. This is the first time I have had a problem .

Same thing happened to my 2015 Z51. Dealer diagnosed as a bad Recorder Module (23350845). Special order part should be in this week. It is a $1048.50 list price part so lucky I am still under warranty. Hope dealer got it right and the new Recorder is the fix.

Took about an hour. Tech put the car on the test set and there was no output from the Recorder Module on the data buss. Won't know if they got it right until the part arrives and is installed. Hopefully late this week or early next. Service advisor told me the part is special order and should arrive in 3 - 5 days. I don't think dealers can stock special order parts.

This just happened to me but the PDR came back on the car restart. I've got until September to fix a hard fail under warranty.

I had this happen once. I mentioned it to the dealer when I had it in for something else, and they updated the software. No clue if it has anything to do with PDR, but the overall response of the infotainment is much snappier now.

Eventually, someone will read this thread when their car is out of warranty, so I wanted to share my experience. Because I am stupid, I accidentally bricked my pDR computer when trying to update it. I bought a used one off eBay, plugged it in, and it worked perfectly. It was a different part number than the unit it replaced. No programming at the dealership was neccissary, it was true plug and play. It is located under the passenger carpet, against the firewall.

My car is in for over a week now they replaced recorder mod and it did not fix it. They did futher testing I told them about the screen they said according to the testing they think the module the replacement module was bad so they ordered another one. They have never felt with the pdr issue. It's very frustrating. Where is your dealer located.

Dealer is in Florida Panhandle. I suspect the tech was fooled by seeing no traffic from the recorder module on the data buss. The lack of buss traffic is probably because the screen is not communicating with the recorder module. I believe it is the screen which commands the functioning of the recorder module.

I'm having the same issue with my 2015 Z51... Black PDR screen only. Had it in dealer certified service for a week and $1700... PDR module was replaced and now screen is black again after a few miles.... Any help on what the fault was and how to diagnose? I was hoping dealer certified service was better than this. Since I'd had a PDR replaced, does anyone know the PDR date code info? I'd like to check that a new PDR was installed after service diagnosed it and bought new. Help? Old (?) PDR labeled with blue dot and 23313639 73909000000000 000238162 TN115JAN0H17.
