Default Windshield cracking from inside out

I noticed a small crack in my windshield the other day. I couldn ot feel anything from the outside or the inside so I was sure it was crackin inside the windshield. I took it to dealership and they had to have a manager look at to see if they would replace it under warranty or not. They looked at it pretty hard with a magnifying glass but in the end they are going to cover it under warranty. After they said said yes my service rep said that they have seen alot of this on the driver and passenger upper corners. He couldnt devulge that info until they would cover it. They thinkit is because of a weld tap inthose areas that is hitting the glass when going over bumps.

just wondering if others have seen this and to let others know it is a problem and they should cover it. My car has 26K and they still covered it.

I'm taking my car to the dealer tomorrow for the exact same thing. Crack is in the upper drivers corner. Service manager inspected it a week ago and said it will be covered under warranty. I'm hoping that this will not be a rea curing problem

I just picked up my new 2016 and noticed the same thing on the passenger side. they said they would warranty it for me. It starts at the top and runs about 8" down in the black area of the window.

I hope this isn't something that happens often.

Did the dealer happen to say if they will try to grind down the welds, or just replace the window and hope for the best?

Mine sends it to some company to do the window but they said they will have the shop look at the welds for sure.

Yep....a good friend of mine bought a left over new 2016 about 4 months ago. He discovered a hairline crack in the upper passenger corner when inspecting the car. It was replaced under warranty before he took delivery.
