I just took the wheels off my brand new Z51 to clean and seal them. All of the wheels had scrapes on the rim, like in the attached pictures. Is this normal?
No, that's bizarre. However, I applaud you for taking the time to remove, clean, wax and seal your wheels. Replacing your brake pads might help in reducing brake dust.
By the way, I did the same thing a few months back. See pics below. No scratches on my wheels.
I have two sets of the OEM black wheels. I remove and replace them twice each year. My wheels shows have a few very minor scratches like yours. I suspect they are from mounting the tire on the wheel.
I take mine off and wax them with any of the super duper "waxes" these days and its seems to help. My wheels where perfect until I had new tires mounted. The back side gets scratched by the tire machines by some places. They focus on the front only using plastic tools but some machines will scratch the back of the wheels.
There is one place I now found and use which has a machine that does not scratch the back side. Just need to ask around.
Pretty **** on my part but I painted over the scracthes on the back before I waxed them!
These wheels should be new, right from Bowling Green to the dealer to me. Car only has 200 miles on it. Think I should ask to have them replaced under warranty. Could the scratches cause problems later on?

No, they're aluminum. Stop worrying about it and enjoy your car.
Even if they were replaced with new ones, the tire mounting machine would probably scratch the backs of the replacements. The backs of wheels get sacrificed on those machines to save the fronts.

1. Ask the dealer to replace the wheels. You have nothing to lose.
2. Part of the black wheel package is to be able to see the reflection from the wheel barrels. Replace them.
3. If a tire dealership scratched the wheels - have them replace them. Scratching the wheels from replacing and mounting tires is completely UNACCEPTABLE. Replace them.
4. Are the scratches on all four wheels? Replace them. Or, have them repainted.
Corvettes do not have the widest wheels on the market...Porsche, BMW, etc all have wider wheels.
Whoa - hang on there for just a second.

I completely understand your point, but if the OPs area is like mine....
All of the tire places around here that have the equipment to replace runflats tell you up front they will *not* guarantee against scuffing a rim during the tire replacement process - and if it hapens, they will not cover the damage.
I've used a tire change machine before, so I know how they do what they do.
Forget to put on the plastic scratch guard, if you even have one, or misalign the bead breaker....yea, real easy to scrape up a rim.
That said - I'm on my 7th set of tires on my C5 (havent work out the C7 OEMs yet.)
