C7 Daily for the lady | Build Thread
Added a C7 to the stable for the other half as her daily driver. Went from a 370z to Porsche Boxster S to a Mustang GT to an ND Miata, and now to the C7 for her. We are big time track rats (road course, auto-x, drag, etc), so we will use this as a build thread and to update our impressions/ownership experience.
The car;
2015 Stingray Z51 (Manuel of course)
16k miles
Sharkskin Grey Metallic
2LT
Competition Seats
Pano Roof
NPP Exhaust
Red Calipers
Carbon Flash
Black Wheels
Carbon front splitter
Carbon side skirts
She is nothing if not a looker;

A couple of touches on the vette this weekend since time allowed.
Threw our old plate and 'Stingray' frame on, and had some visitors come watch. I wonder if the Porsche guys will get confused, this is what happens when you buy a personalized plate for 5 years . I'm sure 99% of the population will think the 987 was an accident.
These guys here were disappointed by lack of food distribution, so they made noise, sh*t 3 times apiece, and made their exit.
We didn't like how the outer plate borders were peeking through in white so we pulled the plate off and masked all the outer edges in black tape. Looks cleaner;
Then we started with getting the car lowered on stock bolts. Pretty straightforward work here, jack a corner up, relieve car weight off the leaf by placing a jack stand under it, crank bolts counterclockwise until they stop. It's not slammed, but got the wheel gap to reasonable levels while still maintaining some semblance of daily use.
Here are the results after a quick spin around the block (car has settled more since then);
Then the RPI designs gloss black vinyl was applied to remove the front "braces";
Looks so much better, no more chrome;
Suspension is settled down, I think it looks perfect now.

That's on the list
A quick pull in the car. NPP sounds wonderful but I'm perpelexed as to the overly tall gearing selection for its output. Why does a 4xx hp car need 4th gear to reach V2 speeds (150mph).
Would love to change the final drive from a 3.42 (oem) to a 4.10. It would make the car an absolute blast around town.

Everything looks good. I hate to tell you, but LED bulbs are not a ricer mod.

I've never seen a vette I didn't like. What's amazing to me is that you can concoct vettes with such radically different looks and still have a vette that looks fabulous. This one is no exception.
