Default Pcad Mod Confessions

So I think I'm finally done after 6 months of this. Considered lowering the car, but rejected that idea for several reasons. All my mods were cosmetic, and mostly aimed at enhancing the Torch Red with black appearance. I didn't think I'd like that look (I had intended to get chrome wheels eventually) but it struck me favorably the night I picked up the car in December and it has only continued to grow on me.

My car is a 2017 Z51 M7 2LT Coupe, Transparent Roof, PDR Nav, Black wheels, (no mag ride).

In rough order of cost from high to low:

Carbon Fiber Dash (GM Part). I think the part was $550 or so, my body shop dude charged me $175 to install it.

Z06 Grill with pre-installed parking cameras approx. $400. My body shop charged me $60 to install it.

Black flash badges from GM, $129.

Blendmount for Solo Radar Detector, $129 - I resisted, and it was a pain in the *** to install, but in the end it's the best solution.

Tail light blackout kit from Eckler', $70

Bin buddy, whatever they cost, $40

Exhaust tips painted black, $30 of Rustoleum paint, masking tape and materials and a couple of hours crawling around on my back to do the work.

Carbon fiber license plate frame from Amazon, $29

Painted my white EZ Pass flat black using that Rustoleum paint listed above, $0 (Before ir stuck out like a store thumb in the front windshield, now you can't see it under the dark tint at the top, functions perfectly).

VERY happy with what these mods did for the appearance of the car. Sometimes when I walk away from the car and turn around to look at it I still can't believe that's my car. I also think it's kind of unique, I've never seen another Corvette with black exhaust tips. There aren't many C7s around here anyway (Orange County, NY, 50 miles NW of Manhattan, of Orange County Chopper fame) and of course fewer than look just like mine.

So what does that all add up to? $1500? I think that's a lotta bang for the buck.

Thanks for all the advice and feedback, very helpful forum. Far less stupid than Facebook, but then, that's a rather low bar.

That was a great price on the dash install. Wish I lived near you, I would use them at that price!

I forgot to add the Proclip USA mount for my iphone which is in the same place as the one in the photo below:

and this trunk organizer, very flexible to configure, install and use.
