Default Small puddle of water

A few days ago we had a massive rain storm which my C7 and I were
trapped in for hours. Some roads were almost not passable. The highways were horrible. There was no way to avoid.

Here is my question. I drove the C7 the next day (zero rain) and notice a funny smell. Almost like fresh paint coming from the engine.

I parked the car for 1.5 days and I have a small puddle of water that continues to form underneath the engine. Same spot. The puddle is on the opposite side of the windshield washer. The water is clear, no oil or coolant. Could the C7 have held water somewhere and is draining? Is this something I should worry about. I am unaware of any just pure water in the C7.

Any help will be appreciated.

Probably just condensate from the air conditioner. After all the rain your humidity level is really high and the AC removes a lot of moisture from the cabin air and the drain is located near the area you describe. It is entirely normal and is not a problem.

With high humidity run the AC in recirc mode which allows it to perform better and also better control cabin humidity.

Drive it and let it sit out in the sun for a few hours to dry everything out. You should be fine.

I'd say its normal for the C7 to hold water in its body. It happens all the time when I wash my car. I usually wash, dry, then park my car inside the garage. If I drive the next day I nearly always get fresh water droplets on my skirts, trapping dust and looking nasty. That water had to be held in the body's, and chassis', folds and traps.

I noticed another sign of water intrusion during prep for a shine and show. I removed my splash guards to clean and buff them (painted splash guards) and noticed lots of water born sand and grit behind them laying on top of the rolled under front fenders and rear quarter panels. Lots of places water can gather and later drip out.

I'd be surprised if a C7 didn't drip water for a day or two after driving through a monsoon.

Yep, all of the above. Especially since you mentioned the car was exposed to all that water.

Default Yup

I have owned and washed a total of six Vettes and I have never had a car "relieve itself" more enthusiastically over time than my 2014.....normal
