"Ventilated seats"

Mine also don't work worth a damn.
Our RX350 has ice cold seat vents, I love those!
Edit: Lexus describes theirs as "Taking the comfort of the standard seats even further, the available heated and ventilated front seats offer separate heaters and fans in the seat cushions to provide optimum comfort, regardless of the weather." They are still called ventilated, but blow cold air.

Most of the cooling effect comes from evaporative cooling of your body sweat. When your sweat has evaporated, the cooling effect is diminished.

Exactly . . . once your sweaty backside has dried off, you don't notice it as much as you did when you turned it on. It's like walking into an air-conditioned building when it's very hot outside. After you're accommodated and dried off, you don't notice the a/c, but it's working the same.

Your problem is that you are thinking of them as "cooled" seats. They are not. They are "ventilated" seats. IOW they are just a fan. If the air in your car is not "cool' you will not feel "cooler".
Where it seems to be useful to me is say after a hike when you may have a sweaty backside. Turning on the fan blows are up my backside that is cooler than my backside and thus I can feel it.

Best way to test them, turn on the passenger seat while driving, put your hand on it, then you can feel the temp. Once you do that then what is happening in your seat makes sense.
If you get too hot and sticky, or the leather is hot (from sitting in the sun) the cooling effect of the ventilation is significantly diminished.

'17 Stingray vert, don't work so great, tried blowing AC to the floor, meh
our Infiniti SUV has cold AC seats and would frost your butt in 5 min.
our $110K BMW 650, ventilated only seats and are worse than the vette, so I cut the vette some slack on expectations. The Bimmer's heated seats however will make you feel like you are sittin on a BBQ grille in about 90 seconds

I have a 2014 Stingray. The ventilated seats work great. Initially set the seat ventilation at the highest level, but it gets cooled down to the point where I have to lower the seat fan setting to the middle setting. BTW I have the AC fan set at low (second click). I have the standard seats that come with 2LT. I live in hot, humid North Carolina and these ventilated seats work great.
If you want ineffective "cooled" seats, try the Lexus RX350, those are pathetic.

Not what you would expect, pretty sad example if you have any real expectations of a cooling effect.

When I read a thread like this, it reminds me of the impossible challenge manufacturers face. Even the most effective system or component is going to be hated by someone.

so a nice option and big benefit to the c7(pre purchase) was the ventilated seats option...
i have had multiple vehicles with the cooled seats option.
My question is for those of you that have the option... how are they working? I can leave mine on full blast and nada. Barely feel anything. I still get pretty hot in the seat.
Hoping it's just me!
thanks!

I have the competition bucket seat with the 2LT package including vented seats. I absolutely love them. They work great. Better than the ones in my Mercedes.

Shorts are defiantly cooler than pants. I find the thinner material the better.
Might be why the seats feel colder for the ladies. Skirts and dresses might allow more airflow.
I notice in my jeans it's the least effective.

I believe the best results are achieved by having microfiber inserts as well as the touring seat foam since it is less dense. I'd be curious to see a poll of results based on those two factors: comp vs. touring, leather vs. microfiber.
