"Ventilated seats"
so a nice option and big benefit to the c7(pre purchase) was the ventilated seats option...
i have had multiple vehicles with the cooled seats option.
My question is for those of you that have the option... how are they working? I can leave mine on full blast and nada. Barely feel anything. I still get pretty hot in the seat.
Hoping it's just me!
thanks!

Your problem is that you are thinking of them as "cooled" seats. They are not. They are "ventilated" seats. IOW they are just a fan. If the air in your car is not "cool' you will not feel "cooler".
Where it seems to be useful to me is say after a hike when you may have a sweaty backside. Turning on the fan blows are up my backside that is cooler than my backside and thus I can feel it.

In addition, you'll find that the seat ventilation is more effective if you have cool, air conditioned air blowing out of the bottom (floor) vents since that is the air that's being blown through the seats. The half front / half floor setting is fine.

When my car has sat out in the Summer sun, I run my AC on Auto until I feel comfortable and like mpuzach quoted I set the air control for half front and half floor. You will feel the fan cool the seats in that position more. To bad there is not some type of back of the seat fan.

Ventilated, not cooled and I agree with the that above. Have the AC blasting on your feet and that seems to help fuel the cool air blowing on your butt. Considering the seat is less than 6" thick, sitting on a 3/4" piece of fiberboard 3" off hot asphalt, it does pretty good.

The heat part works well in my 14. I have a very short drive to work, so on cool/cold days, its very nice and often the only source of heat I use.
The ventilated works, but a lot depends on what you are wearing. THick clothes or a jacket/raincoat make it more difficult to feel the airflow. As others have stated, if AC is on, it is much more noticeable.

The work fine for me. Just don't expect iceberg seats. They ventilate; they don't air condition

That's how I use it in my convertible. No matter how hot it gets, we stay cool.

Even the term "air condition" is off here. Air conditioners condition the air. One aspect is to remove humidity. Air conditioner != Air cooler. For example, the air conditioner in the car is used to defog the windows and it ain't blowing cold air.

These are the Only GM ventilated seats that BLOW the air up at you as opposed to pull hot air from your clothes. Which is much more effective. Not opinion FACT.
lear makes them. They have patents for both types but for some reason took the half *** approach of combining air con seat tech without the complexity.
The air con style seats actually chill the air blown at you through the perforations. Non air con seats just suck heat and humidity from you through same holes.
so dumb.
if you have cockpit cool it works well. If the top is OFF does NOTHING.

I put the AC to LO and then on hot days use the ventilation which works pretty good but usually when the inside is at 60F i use the heated seats. Nice to see outside temperature at 95 and need the heated seats.

I have a 2014 Stingray. The ventilated seats work great. Initially set the seat ventilation at the highest level, but it gets cooled down to the point where I have to lower the seat fan setting to the middle setting. BTW I have the AC fan set at low (second click). I have the standard seats that come with 2LT. I live in hot, humid North Carolina and these ventilated seats work great.
If you want ineffective "cooled" seats, try the Lexus RX350, those are pathetic.

The thing to remember is that they are basically a personal swamp cooler for your ***.
If you are sweaty, they work better, if the a/c is on to the floor, it works better. If you are small enough that air can escape around your sweaty backside, they work better.
The cooler the ambient temp is, and the drier the air, the better they work.
As to the comment that they are useless with the top down, I disagree.
