My 2016 C7 shudders when driving on the interstate. We feel the annoying vibration in our seats and it comes and goes every 5 seconds or so. I have less than 6K on my car, the tires are balanced and the road is smooth. Any ideas?
Depending on production date, you may just get a new tour converter which involves reassembling the car from scratch.
No, not really, just the back half of it.
Or if it was built after December 15 they'll do a triple flush on the transmission and tell you to go drive around for 500 miles, and see if that works.
At least that is what the dealer told me.
So far it has worked for me. I'm at 700 miles After the triple flush.

How does just flushing fix a messed up torque converter?
Hmmm... the other day I noticed a bit of a shudder in my convertible that I -thought- was cowl shake at first. It felt like a vibration that would travel front to back, almost.
Does that sound like the typical converter issue? Does it get progressively worse? I could barely detect it so wasn't worried about it, unless it gets worse over time.

Mine feels sort of like running over the reflectors in the center of the road but not quite that extreme but still annoying.

If I remember correctly, the original "type" transmission fluid is the problem.
And when they flush it, they replace it with a different/upgraded ? fluid.
In some cases that fixes the problem.
Get it to your dealer as soon as you can.....it will not self correct or get any better....mine started at 9000 miles and new TC was installed and it has run like new ever since....I waited 2 months and that was just dumb since I almost hated driving it....get it fixed you will be amazed at the difference
For me it turned out to be the exhaust coming loose and a bad muffler. It isn't always the torque converter.
Well, I can't imagine a loose exhaust causing the same level of violence in shudder I was getting from the TC. I'm talking, can't read traffic signs because your vision is being blurred. Like "holy **** I need to pull over right now before this car tears itself apart" kind of shudder.
My TC was just replaced, but I still have the firewall rattling issue. Seems like its probably the belt tensioner issue which is documented, but they still can't figure it out.

After I initially posted my C7 problem, I tried several suggestions from members and it kept pointing to the TC. Today (Aug. 15,2017) I took my 2016 C7 with 6K miles on it to the dealership with a service bulletin that I got off one of the threads about the TC problem, and they performed the triple flush. They were very honest with me and said they had just had another 2016 with the same problem and it has come back a week after the flush for a new TC. GM forces them to go through the steps even though it cost them more in the long run. Can't wait to get this resolved-this has really took the fun out of driving my car. Hope this helps other owners facing the same problem.
I am thinking the triple flush is just a band aid, I hope I am wrong. I drive in M most of the time to keep out of the AFM mode. Sad GM can't figure this out my now or maybe they have and it is to costly to recall all the C7's. Good luck with your fix

Your problem does not sound exactly like a TC problem. I had my TC replaced after I had the shudder and the RPM's were moving up and down. Check your RPM's and see if they move up and down on a regular basis, especially on a smooth road with the cruise on. My TC problem did get worse and I noticed the shudder on a smooth road and it felt like I was on a bumpy road. After the TC was replaced the car has been flawless and I have put 20K miles on the car after the TC replacement.
