ZL1 weight is from 350 to almost 600 pounds greater than a Z06 depending upon how both are configured and with a little less rear tire width it isn't going to stop as quickly. That being said in these tailgating situations reaction time would be the "killer" anyway for the trailing car.

I def dont tap the brakes. Too dangerous. What I do is take my foot off the gas and drop down to 50. I let them go around me.
With any luck they will get the ticket they deserve.

I drive 5 mph below the posted speed limit, and this is on I-4, the deadliest interstate in the USA........everyone blows by me at 80 to 90 mph......and thats how I deal with the traffic here in Florida.

I sure hope you don't do this in the left most lane.

This is almost as worse as letting 30 pennies fly out the window or thrown off the top onto the car behind you. Yikes!! I think that's act of war at that point LOL

Here in L.A., you'll get yourself killed if you obey speed limits and I typically never drive too far above so I'll just move over.

It is funny ( or scary ), for the most part, we could post for each other.

Did I see you headed north on 2 and you were stopped at 214 today this afternoon, when I was first in line and got a really good pop from both 1-2 and 3-4? I doubt you are the only black C7 Vert in the area, but you never know when we will pass each other.

Yes, very true. I often start to post something only to find you've already said exactly what I would have said.

No, that couldn't have been me today. I was riding an orange Kubota virtually all day.

Just remember there are always going to be stupid people everywhere you go. No need to brake check them and risk killing them, yourself, or someone else just to prove that they are stupid. I'm sure they are proving it easy enough on their own.

That being said, if someone is riding in the left lane slow, not passing, and wont get over after flashing lights at them; i don't have a problem moving over a lane and blowing by them.

Yes, acres of it . . .

Did I ever tell you that you sealed the deal on me purchasing a C7? I had just found the one I wanted, but was wavering because I really still liked my Jaguar F-Type. I was filling up at the Shell Station on the Rt. 2 circle when you blew by, and nailed it coming out of the circle . . . top down, looking cool, and it sounded so good.

I went back the next day, and wrote a check.

I dont take my fun cars on freeways, too much rash. Backroad twisties only. My DD Traverse on the other hand, no one gets a chance to tailgate. I've complained to my GM engineer buddies on several occasions about the stupid governor kicking in at 108. Something about tires not rated for higher blah blah.
There, I've opened myself up to attacks from you safety conscious folks. Feel free to take your jabs.

I don't react at all! I constantly have someone tailgating me and wanting to race me, but so what. I ignore them and laugh. Don't be the first person to act like an idiot and make a stupid mistake. I have nothing to prove to these people, the car speaks for itself.

Move over and let the idiots pass...once in awhile I tap the brakes but for the most part,..moving over makes the most sense. Once in awhile I blow the driver a kiss...makes them Crazy...

I've found inthe first six seconds of any type of incounter..if in the first six seconds you decide it's not worth getting angry over..your free...

If on the other hand...if in those first six seconds..you decide to get angry..you will carry that anger for six hours...

As far as I'm concerned..this type of scenario is not worth getting angry for six hours..

Just move over ..

I don't know how old you are or if you were taught this lesson by someone else or just life experience, but your post "spoke" to me. I have a very stressful job and the traffic during the drive home often makes my blood boil, but you make a lot of sense. I'm in my late 30s and don't need any extra reasons for a heart attack. Thank you.
