2014 C7 LT3 purchase
New member here and am glad to be a member. I was hoping for some advice on a possible purchase of a 2014 LT3 with 12k miles torch red. No Z51 or mag ride. It has two tops. One red and one clear tint. On the test drive (at a car dealer that has it) it pulled to the right with a vibration in the steering wheel. They have a Chevrolet certified tech who balanced all four tires and aligned the front end. I don't know if the rears were checked since it is a Toyota Dealership and they may not have the proper alignment rack. Anyway the second test drive went well. No vibes and car ran straight down the road with hands off the wheel. All features check out (no nav screen flashes) and it is very clean. It rides kinda rough on the imperfections of the surface streets but out on the interstate it is smooth and it does run strong.
We haggled a price of 46k. I have seen better deals on this forum that people claim they got. I also wonder if the lack of mag ride makes it a rougher ride in town or are they all like that. This would be my first Vette. I always wanted one and it sure was fun to drive. Any thoughts? thanks.

I'd ante up another 10k and get a new 16 2LT that will have 3 yrs of warranty and no history.

Sounds like a nice low mileage car. Clean Carfax I trust? 2014 automatic would be my choice if buying used (course I'd be looking for a LR Green ).
If the car is perfect and it's what you want. I'd not shy away from it. It's a 3LT so it has all the goodies.
I would ask the dealer about adding an extended warranty as the
deal sealer. If not a freebie, go for a deeply discounted warranty as mentioned previously.

Corvette requires a four wheel alignment. Align the rear first, then the front. From your post, your vette was not properly aligned.

Decent deal, buy it, or keep searching for the ultimate deal you always hear about.

No need to look any further if you like this car. The price is fair, and the 14's have proven reliable. You'll hear that someone bought one just like it for 25 bucks, but you know how that goes. Good luck.

The 2LT interior is nice, and a significant improvement over the C6 interiors. That said, I love the 3LT interior, and would pay some premium for it in the used market if I were looking. Others wouldn't, and that's fine.

It's a fair price. You will find one cheaper in a few months once summer is over but then you don't get to enjoy it. You can definitely pay less if you go used 1LT or 2LT, but if you like the 3LT then get it.

I live in Arizona and I saw one just like you are looking at for 41K. It took about a month for it to sell. I don't know what the final sale price was, but looking at this from my standpoint, they are asking significantly too much for a car that is almost 4 years old when you consider the price of a new one.

Yours seems like a good deal but I am new to corvettes so no clue if that is bad or not.

I think the price is a little high, but probably within the "expected" range for a dealer. In August last year I paid $55,000 for an 14,000-mile 2014 z51 3LT with mag ride, chrome wheels, NPP, cargo shades, two tops, AND a 6-yr 100,000 bumper-to-bumper (good til 114,000) warranty through Ken Fichtner. $55 was probably ~$2-3,000 high, but in Mississippi, z51s w/FE4 (mag ride) on the used market are like hen's teeth. A little tangential, but...
Do a search for his name in this forum to find the best extended warranty price if you're interested in an extended warranty on your next GM purchase. Beware--"used-market" warranties cannot be added to cars that are past their 3-year 'in-service' date. That is to say, if the car was first sold on July 1, 2014, you have until June 30 this year to purchase a warranty and receive the documentation. After that 3-yr window expires, there is no way to get a "reasonably-priced" warranty from anyone. My warranty cost $2250, so it wasn't cheap, but for the terms I was satisfied. Lotsa guys dislike the idea of extended warranties, but for the piddling amount, it allows the purchase of a mechanically guaranteed Corvette at used prices providing you can stand the existing cosmetic conditions.
Also, confirm the tires are still serviceable--"12,000" miles out of alignment could ruin the sidewall sipes if this car has been dog-tracking down the road all its' life. Crank the wheels to full lock and look at the inside (and outside) edges of the tires; don't forget to get down and look at the rears, too. A set of Michelin PSSs are $1200+, so it's nothing to dismiss out of hand just because a corrective wheel alignment has been performed.
"Touring" mode in mag ride would smooth out the bumps, but mag ride is more for offering superior handling during 'spirited' driving than anything. And I'm not sure the '14 1LTs were offered with the FE4 option. (I think the FE4 option was offered across the board in 2016. Is that right, guys?)

To me that's not a bad price for the car, but as always if you can get them to say throw in the extended warranty for a very good price it should seal the deal.
