Road Trip!
It started out looking like bad news. I left my house and went twenty miles to pick up the GF. Everything was good. I shut the car off at her house and when I pushed the button to open the trunk to load her stuff there was just a faint click. Doors would not open, either. I unlocked trunk with the key and opened the door manually to find the ignition circuit completely dead. Tried a few things until finally giving the battery a boost which let it fire right up. A quick trip to the local dealer to replace the battery (went there to make sure I didn't screw up what's left of the warranty) and no more troubles. They couldn't get to it that day so I bought the battery and changed it myself. They said they had just received a new optional battery with a 42 month non prorated warranty so I bought that one. Today I took the old battery back and they will test it and see if it qualifies for any warranty coverage. It was an ominous feeling to see the car dead but the new battery solved the problem and off we went.
We got out of the Southwest one day before the heatwave and went north to see Mt. Rushmore, which I have wanted to see ever I was a little kid and saw the picture in a school book. After that we visited a friend in Montana and drove the scenic route from Butte, MT, to the north Oregon coast in one shot. I drove 930 miles on the last day because I felt like going farther each time we got to a likely stopping place and before we knew it we were close enough to home to keep going. That is the longest drive I've ever done and I was surprised at how easy and actually pretty comfortable it was. The car is amazing!

And get a load of this guy's parking job! I guess he felt safe parking next to a Corvette as long as he was able to get two spaces.
BTW, I'd give the guy with the dually a little grace. If he'd parked that behemoth between the lines you wouldn't be able to use those two spaces next to him anyway; it would be tight!
Have a good one,
Mike

If you don't get my sarcasm, read another topic on this forum about how we "Corvette" drivers are so vain and we Corvette drivers can't get any enjoyment out of our Corvettes on a road trip thus we need to drive a SUV to fully experience all that matters in life.
