Default Latest Corvette reliability rating

This site tracks the reliability of millions of used cars as they are brought in for auction. Many interesting results (don't buy a Dodge Journey)

Interesting, thanks for sharing. You would not guess it by reading all the complaints on this forum.

I concur with this comment. All Forums tend to paint a bias-negative picture just because folks are looking for advice with an issue on a vehicle they have.

I agree that you hear a lot of complaints here on the forum but that may be because those without complaint don't talk about it much.

On the noted report I noticed a line that read "Vehicle count: 3946". Not a very large pool, IMHO.

That's a strange site and questionable data. I'm guessing they don't have a large database. They list a number of cars that haven't been produced for years:

Pontiac Firebird
Saturn Sky
Mazda RX8
Mercury Cougar
Toyota Celica
Toyota MR2
Chrysler Crossfire
Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The other odd thing is Mercedes models are also near the top of the list, and that's not the case for every other list out there. They're generally pretty far down the list.

Forums are a funnel for reporting problems. I am not saying the problems are not true. However, I always check problem reports with the dozens of Vette owners I know. Almost all of the time I cannot match the number of complaints on forums to actual problems reported by Vette owners I know or my own experience with my Vettes. My conclusion is that fifty posts on a bunch of threads can make the problem seem as if hits half the Vettes on the road. Still forums are good to be kept up-to-date on problems regardless on what percentage of Vettes have the problem. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Also, not one Lexus or Honda on the list. "Vehicle Count" shows as 3946, so what year does this represent? Not much info on Google.

Consumer Reports gives the C7 Corvette an average reliability rating, putting it in the same league as cars like the Porsche 911. It scored "worst" reliability for in-car electronics, worse than average for "drive system", better than average for transmission and body, and "best" for everything else. Certainly it's no Hondo or Toyota.

I had to laugh when I saw the SL550 right below the Vette. I had one for six months...in the shop 10 times for whopping total of $22K in repairs (all were under warranty, but that's what it would have cost). Total POS.
