Road trip!
Stayed at the Blue Swallow in Tucumcari, saw bunches of old motels and gas stations, saw the biggest pop bottle, the blue whale, Cadillac Ranch, a round barn, the birth place of the corn dog. Ate at a bunch of funky old dinner and hamburger joints.
Went to the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village and the Rouge Plant. Saw the chair Lincoln was assassinated in, the limo Kennedy was assassinated in, Fuller's Dimaxion house, Henry Fords first car, a Tucker, one of the six Bugatti Royales and the 15,000,000 Model T (not black). Saw the outside of Ford's mansion, Fair Lane and saw the '17 Model T Ford gave to Edison
Made it to Indianapolis for Bloomington Gold. Did a couple of hot laps in the GS, automatic coupe w/Z07. Got to ride in the Lingenfelter C6 ZR1 at the autocross a couple of times, ate at the Bun & Mug, took a couple of laps around the Indianapolis Speedway in my C7. Went to the Speedway museum, very good.
Took stuff for no rinse wash with me so car stayed pretty clean. Used absolutely no oil (0w40 Mobil 1). I would clean the car up every morning while my wife spent two hours in the bathroom.
Bloomington Gold ain't Carlisle but it is definitely worth seeing. Lots of neat old C1, C2 Corvettes
