Hey Guys. I decided to take a chance in modifying the rear diffuser of my C7. I decided I did not want the current offerings, so I made one myself. Naturally, it is not perfect, since I used basic hand tools and know how, but, I am curious to get some feedback. Please let me know your thoughts. positive or negative. See attached photos.
I'm just not feeling that one. I get that it's handmade, but it doesn't look very good and I can't see how it would serve any function but gathering dirt.
Interesting proof of concept “underwing”. If I may, I would suggest keeping the center section just a *little* more “retracted” under the tailpipes – that rear edge being flush with the tailpipe surround is the least visually attractive aspect of the underwing IMHO.
Not sure if it’s my style, but I can see others buying it.
Well, not feeling it. Check out ASC, they have a rear diffuser kit that looks OEM. Will put you back $400, but don't go cheap. You have a beautiful car (America's Sports Car). Make her proud!!!

Point well taken and this was indeed the intent, but it was poorly executed on my part. I wanted something different and after viewing the current offerings for over a year, decided to express my creativity. Personally, I don't feel those fins, which provide no more or less aerodynamic benefit than mine, and money is not the issue as I bought parts I wanted. It collects dirt, but so does the rest of the car; not a problem for me since I wash it regularly. I appreciate all the feedback, but I have always dared to be different and will continue doing so.
I like to dare to be different also! However, it's your car and I respect what others do to there own but just not my taste and it doesn't have a clean 'finished' look. If fit was tight and not gaps where you see bolts/washer show through then it might look better. Work on the fit and make it appear it belongs or naturally part of the car then it might look better. Good luck continuing to improve upon the concept and you never know as you might be on to something with a more polished and finished look.
I am trying to wrap my head around this. Good job for doing it yourself but why did you opt for this? I do not see any added value or benefit with this modification.
