Default Pulled the trigger

So after acquiring my first Corvette ever last December, I had been so smitten with it, that I really believed my 15year mid life crisis is finally over.... so seeing it is my last ever purchase of a new (toy) car... I upgraded from my 2016 Z51 to an awesome Grand Sport... I absolutely love the aggressive look of the body, the bigger wheels, mag ride and all the details on this car that frankly made my Z51 look ordinary... well I'm finally done forever..... or at least until the Sirius trial period runs out... Pic's to follow tomorrow

Good question.....
Absolutely, from an appearance stand point... I love the aggressive look, wider wheels and just its overall contours...I do notice a difference in the ride as well... seems a little more tight and solid... I'm not sure if its better or just different... We picked it up last night and got home around 1030 pm. 80% of the drive was through some pretty severe thunderstorms.... that was fun oh and then getting packed in the ferry like a sardine and hoping the 200 kids in the car next to me weren't going to ram their car door into mine after opening and closing the door 500 times......
We purchased it from Davidson Chevrolet in Connecticut and they were a pleasure to deal with.
I was torn between biting the bullet and getting a Z06, or just upgrading to the Grand Sport... but to be honest... I was a little concerned of having 650HP, especially seeing that I really don't have that much of a lead foot.... 90-100 is really my max and 460hp gets the job done adequately.... Interestingly enough, my insurance went down $250. per year, so obviously that was my argument and justification to the big boss.... In only 60yrs the costs will have evened out but being a 17 instead of a 16... the car will have more value

Pretty much the same boat, went out looking today. I bought my Z51 in Aug, 2016, just hard to make myself take the hit I'll have to take. The Z06 would be nice but not sure I want the temptation of the 650hp! lol With GS have the looks and neat factor. I might take a shot next week, I can walk if they don't do me something semi fair. I'm a regular customer of theirs. Sleeping on it for now. They sure wanted me to test the Z06, then I would have been screwed, nothing would feel I like that I bet. Congrats on your car.

Congrats on your new grand sport!! I did almost the same thing. Purchased a new 2016 z51 3lt a few months back and just traded for a 2016 z06 2lz. Ride is much better in touring with mag ride that the z51 didn't have. I was tempted with a new grand sport, but went with a slightly enjoyed Z06 instead.

Default similar circumstances, different finances....

I'm a year away from retiring from teaching, had owned five Vettes (from 2002 C5 to my current AND FINAL 2014 C7 Torch Red Conv. Z51 7MT 1lt to which I've added an aFe CAI and a Corsa Sport Exhaust system plus a few smaller items like floor mats) and about a year ago I asked my lovely bride of many years and she said yes ONE MORE OR ELSE YOU CAN SLEEP IN THE NEXT ONE)
I couldn't afford your most recent purchase but I understand the feeling of "getting in under the wire" in terms of finances, retirement and it's financial limitations. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy and much credit to spouses who have allowed us to indulge the boy toy aspect....

Thank you all... I'm still fighting with photobucket trying to get pics downloaded...
Hey Woods guy..... I paid 52500 for my new 2016 70,030 Z51 the grand sport with discount and rebates went from 73685 to 63999 and they gave me 48999 for my Z51... for the 15K difference it was worth it to me and I really think I'm done with the toys !! I could always upgrade the HP down the road if I choose, but for now... I'm good
