Nothing to fear, it's normal.
Look up Ackermann effect.

Its absolutely normal. The owner's manual describes the condition, adds that no service is required. I thought I read where the factory is putting a tag on the shifter to alert new owners of the condition. Lots of people think there's a mechanical problem.

FWIW The problem is worse with OEM tires than with all season tires.

Have a PDF that describes why "Chatter' or "Hopping" occurs in a C7 Z51 and it shows it's not: 1) the Ackerman steering geometry compensation, 2) the sticky tires (worse when it's wet) or 3) the wide tires. It's the race car tire, low slip angle construction of the Michelin tires.

PROOF, posters report it goes away in a Z51 when they put on the same width, more normal slip angle winter or all season tires and the Ackerman steering geometry does not change.

It has many pics: http://netwelding.com/Wheel_Chatter.pdf

That said, it is a problem when the tires are cold, starting below about 45/50 F. In summer temps, like now, I make a full lock left turn with my Grand Sport when backing out of my side garage to go down the driveway. No "Hopping." However when 45F with my C7 Z51, I turned the wheel less and make a "K" turn. At 35/40 I turned the wheel even less and make two "K" turns! I know it's not a problem but don't like the "hopping." Expect I'll do the same with my new Grand Sport.

What I did notice with my Grand Sport is a noise when I made a full lock right hand turn. Nothing on a full lock left turn. It was more like when we put a playing card on a bicycle fork so it hit the spokes. After jacking the wheel in full lock found a plastic brake cooling duct was hitting the tire and another plastic brake cooling air deflector on the lower "A" frame hitting an wheel weight on the very edge of the rim. Trimmed both plastic pieces and the noise was gone. However it wasn't a binding, the wheel returned fine.

DETAILS: As shown in the PDF there will be some scrubbing or binding, especially with the wider Grand Sport front tires even when warm but I have not felt it.

With rubber tire cars they do not design the steering geometry with "full Ackerman" compensation for the different front tire turning radius. They rely on the tread rubber moving relative to the tire carcass to partially compensate (slip angle.) At high speeds, since the inside and outside tires are loaded differently, full Ackerman compensation would reduce the maximum achievable "g" force! Perhaps that scrubbing is what you are feeling even at higher temperatures.

Have you noticed a difference in the "binding" with temperature? Curious as to what you find.

If you see a picture of a tag hanging from a new C7's shifter, that explains that the wheel hop is normal and not to bring it in for service.

^^^
But that is when the tires are cold. Have no issue with the current temps in my Grand Sport at full lock. As noted, I did find the left tire at full lock was slightly hitting the plastic brake duct as was a brake duct cooling air deflector attached to the lower "A" arm hitting an inside wheel weight. That was not "Chatter" or binding just made noise.

PS: I made that PDF when I got my September 2013 built Z51 and GM had only a small comment in the Owner's Manual. Dealers knew nothing-lots of posts on the subject early on. My C7 Z51 had the same tire width as my C6 Z51 and I had not experienced anything like the "hopping" when it was as cold! So I searched to find out why as when 40F its terrible! "hopping" is the correct word. After my research I found it was probably the low tire slip angles in the C7. The proof came after some folks installed winter/all-season tires and said it the issue went away!
