...on driver's side - area about 1/4" wide and about 3" long at roofline. Called my S/A and was informed this is a warranty fix as long as the car is less than 3 yrs old, has less than 36k miles, and it's the original windshield. He said he's seen this before, and has a glass installer he's used for Corvettes since '01.
He also said it will be GM OEM, not a secondary source, and will be done in the service dept. He also mentioned the part was $1200.00 not counting labor. I'm taking it in tomorrow, and a service mgr. has to approve the fix.
I'm cautiously optimistic everything will go well.
Understandable that with so many parts they're going to have ones that don't last and or defective from the start. Sounds like your dealership is on the ball hopefully the installer does a fantastic job.
go nice and easy on the way home they say it's sets up really quick that but I still wouldn't put that much pressure on that windscreen for fear of it moving around the tiniest bit or something happening
there are no more mouldings they're such a perfect fit hate to see something happen stay off the highway for the first day at least.
A lot of people on here would love for you to take some before and after pictures of the corners and all the lower trim parts before they were removed and after the cars back together.
I know many people including myself have fears of replacing windshields LOL Good luck
