I'm thinking about taking one of the driving classes. In your opinion what is the best one around, that uses Corvettes of course. Price, location, and experience. Thanks
I'm sure you'll get many different opinions but I went to the Ron Fellows Spring Mountain Corvette Performance Driving School in July of 2012. I had a 3 day Zo6 workout that includes extensive classroom and on track instruction. I attended on my own dime and they discounted it $600 to $3000--they even threw in the 4th night free at the condos right on the first turn at the track. When I bought my C7 in 2014, I never took advantage of the discounted 2 day school they offered, but I would go back again on my own because I though it was worth it. Go to their website and take a look. Others are sure to chime in but no one will be able to provide the visceral feeling you'll experience there on your own. Good luck.

I went to the Bondurant competition road racing school years ago. Their school cars used to be Corvettes, but it looks like now they are Vipers and Hellcats.
Went to the Ron Fellows 2 day school. Plan to do the 3 day. Never heard a bad review. If you plan to do track days I would go ahead and take the 3 day.
My understanding is that the 3 day doesn't include much (if any) more track time than the 2 day, but it adds an "Introduction to your Corvette" which is basically having someone tell you what the owner's manual says if you're too lazy to read it.
Since I'm not, I went with the 2 day.
This is not to be confused with the Level 2 class, that's something different.

The 2 day school is called "Corvette Owner's School", and from my understanding, it is the "introduction to your corvette class". It includes a decent amount of track time in lead follow sessions, but no open lapping. Both my wife and I have attended the 3 day level one school, and both times, there was very little "how to operate the features in your corvette" unless someone had a question about something. Day 3 has a couple of lead follow sessions, and then they turn you loose on the track for I think 3-4 open lapping sessions where you go at your own pace(with limited passing in certain passing zones). In my opinion, day 3 is worth every extra penny.

Right on the money--lots of open track time on the third day. We started with 9 drivers the first 2 days and wound up with 6 by the third day. Driving a Z, I chased, caught and never again saw a driver of a ZR1 until he came into the classroom after the run. The three day school was certainly worth it to me. Not sure where the opinion came from that the third day wasn't filled with track time.

If you are the original purchaser of a C7 you can attend the Spring Mountain Corvette Owner's school for $1000. That is your best deal and if you are a novice or experienced it is worth it to go. That is one of the best starting places.
