Need your opinion..
I'm in market for C7, found 2.
First is a new 2017 Watkins Glen Gray z/51 with 1lt package, has black 19/20 inch rims.Coupe with hard top
2nd is 2016 Torch Red 2lt with 19/20 inch rims less then 1k miles, has
MAGNETIC SELECTIVE RIDE CONTROL includes z/51-style spoiler. Coupe with hard top. Both are manuals..Both have NPP exhaust..there is about 6-7k difference if I go new.
Guess I am asking which would have better resale down the road, and whats your thoughts.
Thanks

No idea on resale, I sure don't buy Corvettes concerned about what they'll resell for, because the answer always is "a fraction of what YOU paid for it".
But I would strongly recommend magride. Unless you've had a Z06 or Z51 without one before and liked it, it's a harsh ride. I'd pay more to get it... a lot more.

Can you share the price?
Does the 17 Z51 have Magride?
Lastly, have you driven both back to back?

I like TR, go with the 2lt and save 6-7K. Less than 1K miles is nothing. Someone else has already taken the hit for you. When you drive the new car off the lot, you will loose more than 6-7K.

2016 Torch Red may be able to get for 50K and 2017 is at 57K the 2017 does not have mag ride..I've looked at 2017 were still haggling price...but I'm close, and the 2016 is out of state with only 3 hour travel, so no I have yet to drive them. Thanks for replys....

Personally, HUD and MSRC are must haves for me..so I'd get the 2LT for sure. However, seems strange you're looking at MSRC vs non-MSRC and WGG vs TR. What are your must haves and why only these two cars? There are over 10000 new/used 2016/17 vettes on cars.com...find exactly what YOU want.

Hi Bob, I suggest a bit different approach. Make a list of the items you really want/must have on your C7 - MRC is a must IMO; so is NPP; decide on whether you want 1LT or 2/3; base/Z51/GS/Z06, etc. Divide the list into 'must have' and 'like to have'. Then choose 2 or 3 favorite colors and rank them. Then take your favorite color and your 'must have list' and DON'T settle for anything less. Then you are much less likely to have any buyer remorse. Cars, and especially sports cars, are an emotional buy. Doing the above will take some of the emotion out of it - and then when you find the right C7 at the right price, you'll be very happy. And don't worry about resale between colors/options, etc. - get what you want because they'll all take a hit. Good luck!

never buy a car for resale. but ya you are kinda all over the board here, narrow down your must have's then from there. For me I knew I wanted 2lt, took me 3 months to pick a color. MRC is nice if you track, for daily driving it is not noticeable.

First, before you buy ANY used Vette, get the service record from a Chevy dealer and have the service manager, not the sales person, review it with you. If it checks out, then consider the car.
If you're like me, and you plan to keep the C7 for several years, then this is an easy decision, go with the used. As the years go by, the one year newer difference will mean less. After three years from now, when the B2B has expired, it will mean nothing. However as these cars age, significant options like MRC and 2LT will make a difference. Eventually with all other factors being equal, the 2016 will be worth more than the 2017 with fewer options.
Keep in mind, I'm biased as I bought a used 2014 with only 4K on the clock. It's a 2LT, Z51 w/mag ride, nav, NPP and M7. My option at the time was to buy a new 2016, base coupe, 1LT with NPP and M7 for about the same $$$. Make no mistake I don't regret the decision to buy the car with the toys one bit. Yes, I did add a GM extended warranty, but I like my toys.

To heck with resale value. I'd take the 2LT.

Get the 2LT with more toys and save 6-7K. Just make sure that the car doesn't have a story behind it as it was gotten rid of after only 1K miles.
