just got 2016 C7 stingray. cannot get iPod to play. It shows the info on screen of car but no sound

Is the volume turned up on the phone? You can turn the volume down, but not up, so it's possible you've got the iPhone volume set low/off.

My Android phone has four sound sliders, one of which is Media. That controls the output to the car, so check for a similar control on your iPhone. I had a volume issue playing via Bluetooth and that fixed it.
