Hard for them to get tickets when most of them rarely come out of the garage, and when they do they're doing 50 mph in the left lane.

Similar to the "red cars get more tickets" fallacy. Corvette drivers do not get more tickets and neither do red car drivers. Drivers who break the most traffic laws, get the most tickets.

I tell you we it is the image. I have never had more drivers, cars and bikes pull along side and taunt. Now for what its worth most are POS warrant wagons with loud exhaust and a tow eye on the back. They think they have the next gen fast and furious. I point and laugh or brush them off and they "speed" away. Yesterday it was a Ducatii, pulled right up and looked in and made some hand gesture and would speed up and slow back down. Anything that attracts the attention of the public ( and boy does it) also catches the eye of the PoPo. That is why I drive it (for the most part) cautiously.

I'm not surprised by the low number for Corvettes. I think most Corvette drivers know they're driving a high performance sports car that can blow off over 98% of the cars on the road. Why prove it to some shmuck driving a POS ricer. I like to flex the C7, but I do it when I'm alone or in low risk situations.
One thing I always remember, yes the Corvette can accelerate incredibly fast, but it's important to remember after blowing off somebody, the Corvette can stop faster than they can, which can have a very undesirable affect. So its best just to avoid the entire situation.

The Rat Race is still a race. Vette owners don't play that game anymore; except to get popped by a rat racer texting, eating, dressing, applying makeup and then deciding 50 ft before the freeway exit that they have to go across four lanes to use that particular exit.

From what you read on this forum radar detectors are almost standard equipment with most owners. That has to be a small factor as well.

I'm already a cautious driver. My first lesson I was taught and has served me well is, 'Drive like everyone else on the road is an idiot.'
Granted, sometimes I'm the idiot.
After a few days behind the wheel, the C7s ability to STOP RIGHT NOW made me even more cautious of other driver's than anything under the hood. Whatever happens in front of me, I'll be fine.
It's the highway jack-*** 10 feet off my rear bumper that concerns me.

That's a cute study. But, over all my years as a LEO I never gave a car a ticket. The driver......well that's a different story.

Not that many Vettes out in the wild. I wonder what it would be on a per mile driven basis. Also the Corvette owner, being on average, an older more mature driver is one advantage.

Back in 1970 I had a 1970 Corvette, dark green. I owned it for 3 years and got 2 speeding tickets a year like clockwork. (3 in Illinois at the time and you got a driving vacation.) Sold the Corvette and bought a VW Camper van for family reasons. Drove the same roads at the same speeds (just took longer to get to to those speeds... ) and didn't get a single ticket in the next 3 years. I have to think the Corvette made the difference.

Nothing has made me a better car driver than my years of riding motorcycles on florida streets with old people with their huge lincoln town cars and Cadillacs who dont even notice you. So even when Im in my car these days I am always very defensive and keep an eye on my surroundings. Helps out drastically.
