Hand on the wheel and not saying what the bleep did I get pulled over for for starters. Usually just be polite and admit what you did and generally I'd let you off with a warning. Cop an attitude and it was usually over. Have all your paperwork in order helped too.
Yes. I have my insurance information, and registration in an envelope in the center console for easy access. Also my wallet with the drivers license in my wallet for first access sitting in the center console also. Can hand everything over the LEO upon his or her request in about 5 seconds. No fumbling around and all that business to try to find everything.
I have Been an LEO 17 years. I have a 2013 ZL1 and a 2017 Z06. I love fast cars, but I also understand there is a place and time to utilize that speed.
I also know that the car you are driving has very little to do with whether you get a ticket, and the driver in the drivers seat has a lot more to do with whether you get a ticket. In other words, it isnt the car, its the violation and attitude that usually determines whether you get a citation. Ive stopped probably 200-300 different Corvettes in my career. Some received a ticket, others did not.
If you remember anything about dealing with officers on traffic stops, remember this:
You will rarely ever actually talk yourself out of a ticket. However, it is very common that a motorist will talk themselves into one.
Be polite, accept responsibility and go on about your day. Arguing with me has always been an automatic citation. The side of the road is not the place to argue your position.
Cops like cars(not just Corvettes) with out of state plates. That's why they are always stopping them and asking the driver for their autograph.
I do have a friend who is a cop and has two Corvettes(C4 and C6). he has an odd small decal on the rear bumper of each of them. When I asked him what the decals were for, he replied..."so other cops can identify me as being a cop".
Now, I wonder...why would he want a cop to know he was a cop just from driving behind him?
Complete nonsense by someone who has no clue wth he is talking about.
sun, "chase cars" are mostly used by the "Staties" in North Carolina, and not that much at that. At one they were Mustang GT's, now they are the Hemi Dodges.
A Charger makes sense to me; it has rear seats for prisoners.
Sedans, yes...Coupes, no.
There is an old saying, "You can outrun 'em One Way, but ya can't outrun their 2-Way." AND it's still true to this day.
