We purchased our C7Z used, but I'm told there a part that assists with aligning the wheel for easier installation.
Is this is accurate, where would I find it?
Thanks!
Bought the Reverse Logic Lug Guides when I bought my Grand Sport. Big help when installing those wide wheels. The fronts are the width of the Base and Z51 rear wheels - the rears wider.
Having put two sets of ceramic brake pads on in 3 months and had the drivers side front wheel off many times diagnosing and finally fixing the brake air deflector rubbing on a wheel weight-very glad I purchased!
Great product, very well made! Buy 3 there is a discount!
His jack pads are very unique and can be temporally bolted in when going to a dealer or tire store. Clever and made in the US!
I own both tools, I speak from experience and the ZL addons tool is a far better tool. You can remove the center cap using any credit card in a few seconds. You can also remove the wheel without installing the tool, then from the inside of the rim push on the center cap and it will pop out. Insert tool and put the tire back on. The opposite side of the tool is threaded for using it on the rear tires.

Don't you still have to spin the wheel to line up on studs once slid on to the center tool though?

Yes, but you don't have to hold the weight of the wheel with your arms while you are doing it. I have the ZL1 extensions and stopped using them because I found it was easier to use the rim protectors on my carbon rotors and let the covered rotor and caliper hold the wheel as I turned it. Without the center support you are holding the wheel a foot away from the car trying to see how the extensions line up with the holes in the wheel. If you are going to do that it is easier to just put the car up at chest height and put the wheel directly on the studs if your arms and back are strong enough to lift and push a 50 lb weight that way.
The other thing you can do is just raise the wheel off the ground far enough that you can get it off once the lug nuts are removed. Then when you put the wheel back on the rim is above the rotor/caliper and once you have the holes in the wheel aligned close to the studs just lift slightly and push on.
Another trick : Put a plastic garbage bag on the ground, under the wheel well. Then you can easily slide the tire into position, onto the hub.
Good idea. I have no problem with the weight putting it on the Reverse Logic guides even for the Grand Sport 335 rears. I only jack it up ~1 inch off the ground and use my legs to get it up to push it on, but I'm only '74!
It's far easier than the 420 section width Mickey Thompson's on the rear of my ProStreet Rod! Hope the guides fit, have not had to have those wheels off in a while.
i saw a post where someone built a plate to fit on a jack that had rollers on each side so they could use the jack to lift the tire, then roll it while sitting on the jack to line up the studs..
If I find a photo I will post it.
By the way, the car dollys they make to move cars around would also work to raise tire, and line up the studs...
