Default Tire Repair Kit

Recently switched to Conti Extreme tires. They are great but are not run-flats. Can anyone recommend a portable repair kit that I can carry in my '16 vert?

Purchase a SLIME kit. Come with compressor, slime, repair tool etc. $50-60$. Fits in your rear underfloor compartment. Ebay

Kev, does that slime cause any problems with the TPM or the rim? I too am thinking about replacing my summer only run flats.

My two cents FWIW

I am not a fan of tire sealants.

I am a fan of tire plug repair kits and a compressor.
Motorcycle stores sell compact plug kits...variety of choices.
Compressor...depends on size you want...again many choices.
(A compressor with a lamp could be desirable)
Sealant...your call as a supplement in case plug doesn't full seal.

I've logged thousands of miles on motorcycles and have patched more than a few nails in tires without the option of a spare or run-flats. I've read too many stories of slime eating rims or at the very least making the next tire change very messy.

I carry small pumps and sticky strings in both the motorcycle and vette. The one below fits in the floor compartment well in the vette.

A pump like this:
Amazon Amazon

Sticky strings like this:
Amazon Amazon

Replace the sticky strings and rubber cement every two years as they do dry with age.

Dewey and Kenny, great suggestions. I think that is the way to go once I run down my current tires.

I switched to non-run flats also.....I bought a kit from Griot's Garage....high quality kit with pump, gauge, sealant all in nice carry bag. Same as used in Porsches and Mercedes. Sealant safe for tire pressure monitors. Delivered it was about $65 as I recall. I also bought a plug kit with tire reaming tool just for insurance. Actually used it on my '51 Chevy when I found a flat after being parked in the garage a couple of weeks...big old nail picked up somewhere. No further problems.

This is waht I carry in my Vette and I have run flats. I can also fit a small compressor in the rear compartment but keep it in the wife's SUV since we use it for long trips. But put it in for my back roads 2 1/2 hour trip to Charlotte to see the 40,000 hp, 4 lane drags!

This is a video showing how it works,

Could Work For Outer Tread Nail or if Needing to Travel More than 50 Miles on a Run Flat.

FWIW I too bought the SLIME kit. I also contacted them and asked if the 'slime' ever needed replacing.I was told to replace it every two years.

Bummer. When I bought it I wondered how that stuff would hold up stowed away in the car with extreme temperatures and age. Thanks for the info.
