Awhile ago I test drove a used C6 manual with a Corsa exhaust. The sound when letting off throttle was glorious. Popping, gurgle... Fantastic.
I recently bought a '14 manual and while I love the car, I am a bit disappointed that the sound off throttle is missing that popping and gurgling I heard in that C6.
So my limited knowledge leads me to ask: what it is that causes that sound? Is it just the after market exhaust? If so, cat-back or all the way thru headers? Is it cams? Or combination of both?
Also, if I were to pursue the magical ingredients, whatever they may be, would I still be able to utilize the dual mode and quiet things down when wanted?
What exhaust does your '14 have (I assume you have the NPP since you do mention having dual mode)? My '15 with the stock NPP had quite a bit of gurgle when in track mode...now it has even more since I added headers/high flow cats to it.

lakemg, yes option NPP, dual mode.
A couple mentions here of track mode... I've run the car quite a bit in sport mode, but haven't touched track mode. I'll have to give that a whirl and see if I notice a difference.
I have the Corsa Extremes, with their double helix X-pipe, and I get the burble and popping during deceleration when downshifting. More so than with the NPP. I believe that most of it can be attributed to the secondary cat-delete X-pipe rather than the mufflers.

You can put just the exhaust in track mode. It's quite a bit louder than touring/sport.
Gurgle is much more prominent when the pipes (cats) are cold, or on startup when the car is trying to warm up faster. After they warm up the car runs less-rich and the beautiful music goes away.
Be careful running Track mode on rough pavement. It's said that that suspension setting is so stiff that some unfamiliar owners have bent their wheels on "bad" potholes-- the only question is, how deep is 'bad'?
I run in Track mode on the street but only after I've pressed the middle button twice; that sets Track mode up with "Wet" conditions and TC "off". Traction control isn't really off; the manual describes how the electronics govern TC/AH under Tr in the 'off' setting. I ain't an idiot enough to intentionally drive with TC actually turned off.
OP, do the fuse pull on #42. It doesn't hurt anything. Drive around and report back! My 16' does all the good noises when it's hot or cold. Blip the throttle just a tad while your going slow in neutral before you clutch out... (Like coasting through a parking lot or similar driving) you will get a ton of burble.
I had to edit my post cause I saw you have a 14' I think that's fuse 41. Fuse 42 is for 15' and up!
Hmmmm... could I turn that into flames shooting out the back?
I have a straight piped subaru that shoots flames and has mad after fire... it's tuned slightly rich for the sh*tty ACN91 we get down in beautiful California. It's pretty sweet! Go catless, longtubes, and straight pipe no mufflers right to the stock tips.
