In PA we have a ton of deer. Invested if you can call it that in a pair of deer whistles. Have them on both vettes, my daily driver and my wife's car. For $5, you can find a place to hide them and I've seen them stop deer in their tracks. Just need to keep the car going over 35mph. That's never been a problem for me.

May or not work well when you come around a turn at 75 mph on I81 North of Scranton and find a herd of 20 or so deer already on the highway.
I was staying in a cabin in the mountains and the guy next to me was bragging about deer whistles on his car and how they worked so well. The next morning, the whole front of his car was mangled. Told me he hit not one, but two deer. He had two whistles, so it is logical he hit two deer. Probably installed them backwards so that they attracted deer.
I did. I was amazed to see so many. It was spring, dusk, and something yummy to deer had just sprouted along the expressway. They were all head down, chowing down on whatever it was, which was why none crossed the road. I drove about 40 mph the whole way.
No kidding. Hit those wrong and they take off the roof of the vehicle and your head.
There are no moose in southern Michigan, but there is an elk farm(!) that I pass on the way to Flint. The fence is major league, but if those guys get out there could be mayhem.

By the way, we saw many "moose crossing" graphic signs in New England when touring last fall, but none included the squirrel . . . .
The Gilmore car museum is awesome. I've lived 30 minutes away from it for 25 years and only visited it for the first time last year. Hoping to get out there again this year. I live in deer country and thankfully have only hit one with a jeep about 15 years ago. Tons of close calls. You almost develop a sixth sense when you drive through them every day. Had two way too close calls on my road bike which was enough to make me sell it.
^^^ You must be the "deer whisperer," fsvoboda, or something. j/k. You got good luck. I gotta look up where the Gilmore is. I just (two mos. ago) went to the Pierce Arrow Museum in Buffalo, NY. That's the one that got the recent donation of five Corvettes from Mike Yager of Mid America Corvette parts (now Mamotors, or some such). Nice and unusual cars, plus the museum is really great complete with an all-copper (mostly), indoor, original Frank Lloyd Wright gas station designed for Buffalo.

Gilmore is very heavy on classics (including Pierce Arrows), also has a vintage diner for lunch and a repro Shell station from the 1920s or 30s, very charming.
